Thanks for confirming that.  I may have to order one of those.  Did you order it direct from Leatherman?

Huh ha!   That explains the blade change!!!

It is awl about marketing…

The slightest change to a tool, and the LM purest flock to acquire the variant!

 :assimilate:

The original blade, shaped the same as the REBAR (?)
The newer blade a PE, but similar to the Sidekick and the Wingman, and maybe the REV (?)

I must resist, resist, I must…
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

The bond is a highly overlooked modern masterpiece for the price point and versatility.

The blade was a tiny bit loose and the tip of it would come out of the handle fairly easily :ahhh it just wasn't exactly safe

So…
They really did not fix the issue, just changed out the blade with a drop🙄

A Wharncliff, sheep foot or a Lamp foot blade would have been even better. 🙂

The blade on my later version is held into its handle by noticeable tension which
stops it  accidentally deploying.

It looks like there has been a change to the knife blade shape, I also note that the knife blade is held into its handle by noticeable tension with the slip joint tab (arrowed). I quite like it and I’m sure it will grow on me :multi:

So no more floppy blade.

Anyone wanna buy a lightly used Bond?

Depends on how much  :D

You might be able to contact LM about the blade and send it in for a blade swap though

Sure.

Dug out an extra pocket clip and been carrying my Bond the last few days. The floppy blade isn’t really an issue on the Bond so much because it is housed inside the handles.

Added bonus of the clip is making it super easy to locate the blade without looking.

Really wish they would add holes for a clip to the Rebar/ST 300.

Early morning sand pickup.

I am one that is happy did not predrill and tap screws holes for the REBAR AND ST300.

Both tools are too heavy for a pocket clip.  I had no issues carrying in the sheath on the belt behind the belt loop before the right back pocket.   And, now one rides in my shoulder bag for events and hike excursions I  get involved with.

The tapped holes on the BOND drove me nuts until I installed the clip.  Should have been included in the package.

The pocket solution I have adopted for the REBAR and will work for the ST300, Surge, and WAVE / Charge models is utilize the lanyard loop,  cut a piece of paracord about 14 to 20”, attach a lobster claw or clip to the cord. Tie it in sloop.  Then thread it onto your belt, attach the clip to the tool and slide into pocket.
When needed, just pull the cord to retrieve the tool, un-Clip and use.

For the tool to stay vertical just shorten the cord to keep the tool from laying in bottom of pocket.

Much less expensive than any clip.   I have a cord made for the purpose, will retrieve and picture. 😉
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Is the Rebar that much heavier then a Bond?

As you know I am also a big fan of sheaths but sometimes mixing it up is nice.
