I made the same decision. I needed a rotary tool, but not enough to buy a Dremel.
Seemed good value to me Adam, particularly with all the attachments and had good reviews

Gave it a very quick test this arvo and seems pretty good, what do you think of it

Sorry for the confusion. I made the same decision to not buy a Dremel. In my case, I bought a Hyper Tough rotary tool instead of a Dremel.

No problem at all Adam :hatsoff: that was one of the ones I was looking at, really went for the Duratech because of all the accessories and the magic charm, being on Amazon daily deals :)

Powernoodle Day 11

I pulled the 2009 ST300 out of my pocket and heard something hit the floor.  The little pivot tab on the lock had snapped off, causing the lock to fall off.  My subconscious mind said, "Remain calm, Powernoodle. Breathe. Remember your training!"  So I'm sending this one off to Timmy today, and fortunately I have several spares to keep me going.

Oh no :ahhh That was always the weak spot of the Core unfortunately  I have broken 2 like this (back when they were still in production) and really don't trust the Core as an EDC like I trust the rest of the ST family  more than likely you will be getting a new ST300 unless they happen to magically have a replacement locking tab for the Core :ahhh

They must not have completely fixed the problem with the 300 because I have never heard or seen one of those broken in that manner :salute:

Edited after paying attention  :D

P-Dog, note that my broken one is an ST300.     So really its not that bad sending this one back.

I do have a broken Core in the Powernoodle Collection.  I've just never returned it for a warranty replacement, because Timmy will send me an ST300.  Guess I need to do that.

ST300 and Core ready for a Big Adventure.  Something I did not know:  the warranty says they will send you a refurbished tool if they cannot repair yours.  I assumed they would always send a new tool.

They did use to send new tools but a few years ago they went to the refurbs :salute: I have received a tool or 2 since then and they are always in almost new condition  :tu: I usually rather have repaired if possible but sometimes it is quicker and easier for them, if the tool is still in production, to just send a refurb
