After not going on there for the past 5 or 6 months, I decided to post a few of my collection photos. It only took a day, but I have people questioning my sanity, questioning why I do not support Leatherman because I made a thread to educate people about the fakes out there, etc. So many opinionated people that know jack that it is frustrating. I am seriously contemplating shutting down my account this time.  :facepalm:

I guess I shouldn't lament. I am sure a few negative comments won't chase me away. I am just amazed at how some folks think however.  :facepalm:

Yeah, well I noticed one of the moderators named Leatherman_Official commented and possibly took it down. I am not exactly what one would call a Reddit power user, but I noticed that the thread showing the Leatherman knockoffs is now removed from the r/Leatherman feed.  :think:

So much for that I guess.  :dunno:

That is weird. From my end, I do not see it in the Leatherman subreddit...but then I am not well versed with the Reddit universe,  so most likely my fault.

if it is LM then the behaviour is simply odd. one would think that they would want people to be educated about fakes and buying the real product

No it wasn't Leatherman from what I can tell. I was in error. I still cannot see that thread from my account, but when I log in under no account, that post is alive and well. I have no idea what is going on other than it is probably something on my end. No, one of the administrators named Leatherman_Official just commented about one of them being an interesting multi-tool, and then I couldn't see the posting in the r/Leatherman subreddit. I assume I got blocked or something. I am wrong. I will survive. Just a bit shocked at all the arm chair warriors on Reddit...not sure why I should be...I left  there once already for the same reasons.

well good news Chako  that it wasn't from the official team.

as far as odd comments, that is maybe a given. there are few places online that somehow manage to keep a good community where those are cut to a minimum. at least the multitool community is still rather free of social media influencers and self proclaimed experts doing dumb things for views

Dear lord. I guess I offended a few folks over at Reddit. Seems like i am a braggart. I guess trying to help folks with some multi-tool knowlege and sharting photos of my collection was too much for a few. I am certain I will no longer participate on Reddit anymore. I do not need the negativity.  :facepalm:

Participate  in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a LM Pocket Survival Tool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of an Axe for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of a traditional folder for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread with photos of your slasher/chopper/machete knives in use Start a new thread and post a photo of the keychain for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread with a photo showing the Swiss Army Knife   Toothpick being used in an unusual way. Start a new thread and post a photo of a fixed blade for thirty (30) consecutive days.

I just walked away from Reddit. It was fun when it lasted, but I do not need the aggravation. While there, I did post a lot of links to MT.O, and I think a few new members came over because of that..but I cannot be sure.

I made the mistake of going back, and someone asked me for help. I have a hard time refusing to help someone. Guess that is why I am an educator.  :facepalm:
