Thanks! I just ordered one. I already have one with a standard silver body and paid just under $30.00 for it. It was worth every penny! You may be right. For under $10.00 the tools are all sharp, all lock, and it has replaceable wire cutters. I have no idea where you would get them, but that feature is unheard of at this price!    :tu:

I like to have a few cheaper tools kicking around. But, most are $20-30. At $10, there was no way I wasn't gonna get it.  What sold me on it was the sheepsfoot main blade and strap cutter secondary blades plus outside opening scissors. From the sounds of things, this actually has decent scissors. The Workpro 18-in-1 and similar Ozark Trail I have pretty mediocre scissors.

I have been carrying and using the Bercol branded version almost every day for 2 months. I am planning to write a review very soon. Though my MT has some flaws (it rattles a bit; the strap cutter did not come sharpened enough to cut paracord; the file is mediocre; the saw will bind when cutting thick material; I have to sharpen the blade every other week; the nylon sheath is cheap), I do not regret paying $30 for it at all. I have been wanting to try out other MTs I have such as the WorkPro 15 in 1, but I keep reaching for the Bercol each morning.
And yes, the scissors are good.

$9.99?!  :ahhh
I just bought 2 more  :D

For those not in the US, the total cost with shipping comes to around $20, if anybody is interested.

So it's mostly a ripoff of a Surge.

I have that tool's review written for months now, and I cannot find time to take nice pictures so I can post it.
I'll try and find some time this week. And two others I've already written. So many tools, so little time. :ahhh

So it's mostly a ripoff of a Surge.

While there are some similarities, it is not a ripoff of a Surge. This tool is smaller and has a file that cannot be hot swapped, and it also does not have a serrated blade. It has a can opener and package opener, not found on the Surge. The Surge has a micro screw driver and a socket for driver bits. The drivers on this budget tool are a fixed Philips and two flat heads on the end of the can and bottle opener. And it is NOT as good as a Surge, but it is a great value for the money!  :D

The similarities are greater than the differences. Look at the general layout and how it all works, the OHO tools and their liner locks, the internal tools and their locks. Sure, they have changed a few of the tools as you have mentioned: fixed file and saw instead of blade exchanger and serrated blade, fixed phillips instead of bit driver, package opener strap cutter etc (although only the OG Surge has the micro screwdriver) but look at what has been copied rather than what has been changed. I mean look at those scissors!

I do agree it's great value for money though.

Leatherman implements go in nicely, they fold in and lock properly when open.  :like:

This tool's pivots are smaller, so you can't put its implements in a Leatherman, but the difference is small. You could make the holes larger and put its implements in a Leatherman if you wanted.

I really hope this is a good tool for those that acted quickly and got in on the deal.  I'm always a day late or a dollar short. :dunno:

There is another variant of this tool here:   https://www.amazon.com/FANTASTICAR-Mintcream-Multitool-Spring-Action-Screwdriver/dp/B08W46L668/ref=pd_ybh_a_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=V8CDXM1QWDA5XCS9V2CB

I do not like the available colors! lol

I'm praying its lighter. If it is, it will be great.

It looks like it is a bit lighter, but may have a weaker body. It does have a belt clip which the others do not have, but no sheath. The price on it was just lowered a bit also!  :tu:

The seller says it's 8.5oz

that would be quite good if true...that puts it into pocketable range.

After breaking the scissor spring (see pic), I wanted to see if I could swap out anything to make it more functional.

I only have a Wingman for a donor.  Unfortunately the hole of the Wingman’s scissors were too small for the peg of this tool.  :ahhh I don’t have the tools nor the desire to open up the pivot hole of a perfectly working Leatherman tool for a china tool of questionable reliability.

In the end, I just decided to cut my losses. I put everything back together and tightened the screw of the broken scissors so as to “lock it in” to indicate the tool isn’t useable.  Just for kicks I messaged the seller to ask if he’s got spare parts, though knowing china sellers who don’t even speak/write English without Google/Alibaba translate, I’m not keeping my hopes up.

Appreciate the heads up.  Bought one of these to go along with the other two I have. Even though I just bought a Surge, these are great tools!

You are welcome! I bought one too, making it 4 overall. They are great, especially at $20 and under.
