Day 30

Finishing up this Challenge in remembrance and honor of Dean with a knife Dean gave me several years ago. It's a Camillus Electrician knife he had recovered with Ebony and tuned it up a bit. Dean did a good job on this knife and I'm pleased to have it in my collection.

Day 30
This was, I think, my third trad challenge and I keep doing it because it is one of the most fun challenges.  Some of your knives are exquisite works of art.  I started moving away from anything "Tactical" years ago and I've come more and more to appreciate traditional knives like grandpa might have carried.  I seem to now have a full on psychological aversion to any knife marketed as a weapon.  I'm just not interested in those any more, except of course for historical military weapons such as bayonets and swords, but I rarely find myself carrying those. Even though I have spent the last few years trying to find my ideal EDC fixed blade knife I really enjoy carrying a well built traditional folder, and sometimes something in your pocket is better than something on your belt.  Cheers Dean. The postman cometh today. Life has been pretty demanding since getting home from work this afternoon. Haven't had much time to drool over it yet. But wow,,, it sure is purtiful!!!

I figure I’d end the challenge with one my newest knives (GEC 92) and the one I’ve owned the longest, my first knife - a Utica Girl Scout


The more I use the 92, the more I like it and am thankful Steve offered to part with it.  To me it is just the right size and weight.  It is small enough to just drop in the pocket, but big enough to get a firm grasp on when using.  I love the blade selection especially.  The coping blade is so useful for opening packages, cord, wire, etc while the larger blade is perfect for food use.
