Swiss Champ update.
on: June 08, 2021, 07:58:20 PM
Well, I’ve had the Swiss Champ just over 2 weeks now.
Me and this little mofo are inseparable. Love it!

Just thought I’d share that

Nice.  Too many folks will buy one and when they carry it awhile find it's simply too large.

I love my SwissChamp. I dont regret ever spending money on it. I just need full pliers more than other tools.

Its definitely goes in my camping bag.

Before I had one, I thought the Champ was a gimmick. However, after a 30-day Swiss Champ challenge I came around and learned to love it.

Pocket carry for me, too.   :tu:

Love mine!  I used to think it was big until I compared it to the X series Champs.  After that, it didn't seem big at all.  Mine rides in a belt pouch when I'm carrying it.

My Swiss Champ was a gift from Barry and has pretty much been in my pocket since the day I received it, except during challenges.

Some people put revolvers in their pockets and carry them around. I still don't see how a SwissChamp bothers anybody's pocket, unless they have extremely sensitive skin. I carry mine in my left front pocket. Today I had five knives with me, including it.

Pocket carrying a larger tool can be cumbersome in work trousers (slacks in the US maybe?) and jeans, especially if you need to carry other things in those pockets too and don't want unsightly bulges for meetings etc.

I got a Champion in 1983 and used it off and on until I picked up my first SwissChamp last month, a black one with the gray-frame mag glass. I wanted to upgrade to get pliers. I keep it on a suspension clip in my pocket.

So then I had to buy a red SwissChamp of the same vintage as a "spare".

Nothing wrong with that Steve :tu:. Mine always felt good in my watch pocket.  I really don't think they're all that big really.  Compared to my Swisstool, the Swiss champ fits just fine.

I mean, yeah, a full size Dewalt grinder or Stihl chainsaw is a little much for my jeans pocket....so yeah, everybody does have their limit, I suppose....

:pok: What a waste of perfectly good pocket space!

Btw I do carry a .38 Special in my pants pocket sometimes. Cargo pants are good for that. (Yes, it's legal under my circumstances).

In my previous role I had to carry two smartphones, a pad of stick notes, pen and then my actual normal pocket stuff in office pants (whilst I love cargo pants, dress codes tend to not). The phones alone were already pushing it since they're find when walking, but significantly hamper your ability to bend and kneel unless your pants are very baggy. Whilst there's nothing wrong with loading up on gear (when not in a challenge I carry very heavy just because I like gear), it isn't always appropriate or possible to do.

You must have very big pockets   ;)

I carry the SwissChamp vertically in a denim Pouch in my left rear jeans pocket. Next to it is a Buck Ultimate Drop Point Hunter in S30v, and next to that is a Victorinox Farmer X, both also in denim pouches.

I was a Victorinox dealer when the SwissChamp first came out and I regularly carried a SwissChamp, Champion.Craftsman, Ranger, Super Tinker, and Classic so that I could show them to potential customers. :D

While not with the Swiss Champ, I like carrying mine in my back pocket next to my wallet.  Keeps it snug so it doesn't fall out.  Since I've taken a fancy to the 58's, that spot has been taken by an Opinel.  Just the same, a Swiss Champ should easily fit.  I also used to carry mine in a flip phone pouch on my belt.   I'm feeling the need for another Swiss Champ challenge where we could test different carry methods out.

At 6'2" and 300 lbs. I am almost entirely composed of unsightly bulges.  This in my back pocket is the least of my worries.

I resemble that remark.
My problem is that I don't like keeping anything in my back pockets.   I feel like the old stereotypical kid that pulls a bunch of junk, including a bullfrog,  from his pockets.

May need to revive the use of a 70's era belly bag.
