It didn't matter what other role I saw him in, he was always Herb.  I grew up watching WKRP in Cincinnati and everyone on it had a huge influence on me.

To this day, if you want to elicit a significant amount of spontaneous laughter with my family, just utter the words "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly," which, I know was Arthur Carlson's (Gordon Jump) line, but as with most shenanigans, Herb was right there with him.  And now, whatever afterlife there may be, they are together again.

Ordinarily I would end a post like this by saying RIP and the most famous role, but in this case, I think I'd rather just quote Jennifer Marlow (Lonnie Anderson) and say...

Can it Herb.
