Day 30 of 30 (Stack Challenge)

And so ends the challenge.

This one was a far more enjoyable experience than the Daredevil Challenge in August.  :)

Thank you, Nix, for organizing the Go BIG and allowing me join half way through for a 30-day Stack Challenge.

In some respects, this challenge wasn't much of a challenge as I usually carry a Swiss Champ when I'm out - when other tools aren't readily available and I want to be self-sufficient.

The challenge was more challenging at home. Being inside a house full of tools, I usually carry a smaller SAK, like an Explorer or my Deluxe Explorer (Explorer + pliers mod). So carrying the Champ at home at times felt a little like overkill.

The tools that were the most useful for me? Blades, metal file/saw, universal scaler, scissors, pliers, inline Phillips, mag glass, bottle opener, pin. I definitely have a better appreciation for the scaler now, thanks to all the pics posted. Prior to the challenge, I think the only thing I ever used it for was the rulers.

If not for the pliers, I'd be tempted to switch to a Champion or mod an Outdoorsman to replace the wood saw with the metal file/saw. But as I like the pliers, the Champ is definitely the way to go, at least when out. At home? I'll likely switch back to my Deluxe Explorer as most of my pliers usage over the last month occurred at home. Or maybe I'll rotate...I've still got my new-to-me Outdoorsman with new yellow Plus scales to try out.  :)

I've really enjoyed participating and reading about the creative uses you all shared. Until the next challenge!

Final pic is of the Deluxe Explorer congratulating the Champ for a job well done.

OK, Nix, you knew this would happen with a Champ challenge, didn't you? Champ Addiction.

After carrying my Champ for my 30-day challenge, I'm having trouble giving it up now. I was all set to switch back to my Deluxe Explorer on October 1st, but found myself thinking do I really want to give up the universal scaler, file, and wood saw.

Or if I switch to my Outdoorsman, do I want to give up the file and pliers?

Or if I switch to my Champion, do I want to give up the pliers?

When I can have it ALL in the Champ.  :ahhh

I understand you. We've all been there (and we are all still here). The champ is hard to beat. Ok, if you use the XLT as a reference you don't want to give up the bit driver, some more blades and the fish scaler of the XLT: The spatula.

I've come to really enjoy those pliers. Not like real pliers, but super useful little tool.   :tu:
