Pay it Forward, 2021 Edition!
on: June 21, 2021, 02:24:19 AM
Same rules as last time, the first person to PM me with their address gets a FREE surprise.  Free 9f charge that is, but, as usual, there are catches involved!

1- Must post pics on arrival
2- Must pass it or something of equal value (at each member's discretion) on to the next person... and so an and so on!

To play you must also wave willing to ship international, as you never know who you will be sending it to.

Original thread for reference:  https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,80891.30.html

I have a small package ready to go, all it needs is an address!

All packed up and ready to go.  It just hasn't taken itself to the Post Office yet!

To make it more fun, you should of included an Apple AirTag to record its journey and the other one(s) being sent to use the same AirTag, and see where stuff goes. Seen a video of a guy sending an AirTag to Korea, SpaceX, and Apple's CEO. Was an interesting watch as DHL lost the package but the guy could see where it was at. Maybe an employee with an iPhone found it?

Funny you should say that.  The tracking on a package I ordered around Christmas showed it leaving Miami, going to Jordan before coming here.  It apparently decided to take the scenic route instead of just coming up the coast!

Send a package for my country...
You I'll see It enjoying a loooooong (real long) time at the customs depot.

The mail service is good , but the customs are excessively slow

DHL in England sent a package going to Australia via the US (and it still got here quicker than stuff going direct to Oz by Royal Mail). It can sometimes be a bit disconcerting following the perambulations of your packages.

I have noticed that when I insure packages they almost always get here (sometimes months overdue, but they do get here eventually).

It's a bit off topic but in the same time it isn't because this tread is about shipping things to other so I'm going to give my two cents..
I watched the apple air tag video where DHL allegedly lost the package. And I can't share his experience. I am a leathercrafter, I sell my things online and ship all over the world. For the 5 years I've been doing that DHL has not lost a single package of mine. Tracking has always worked. Even when everybody all over the world went full panic because of the virus and posts weren't accepting packages - DHL worked and delivered on time. Note that  I only use the express service, the economy one might be a different story but I don't believe it can be that bad. With few exceptions, where the address was a remote location, they deliver in 2-3 days to the other side of the globe. Last month I had a package travel all across Europe in less 22 hours from the moment a courier picked it from my house to the moment they delivered to the client himself.

I'm very excited, got me a package from the great white north!  Of course I used the MP600 to open the package since that is my tool for the Daredevil challenge.  Inside were several MTO coins or poker chips, not sure which is correct.  An MTO sticker, and some other stuff...  Just kidding, I am absolutely stoked to have received a Victorinox Forrester (wood) a Diving Sparrow Mini-cleaver, and a Gerber Mullet.  Way more than I expected and certainly more than I deserved.  Thank you Grant, you are a gentleman and a scholar, and generous to a fault, and I don't care what Poncho says about you.  I'll have to throw some things together for the next recipient, whoever that is. Hopefully I'll get a quick response and can get the package in the mail this week.
Whoever posts here first that they want to receive the next Pay it Forward Package gets it!

I'm glad you like it!

Unfortunately I found a couple of things afterwards that I'd intended to throw in and forgot!

Oh well, I'll save them for next time!  :D

Doesn't anyone want to get the next package? :dunno:  I was on another website where we had what we called, "the box of awesome" that box traveled between members for nearly a year. You never knew what might be in the box, but you knew it would be awesome.  It was fun.

I can't afford to add anything to such a package at the moment, and if I could I would be paying much much more than North American prices. I don't have anything laying around that I want to move on.
Also, shipping to and from here is very expensive now.

My package to Surge was rejected by the post office because I wrote Buck Knife Gift Set as one of the items on the customs form and the postal clerk said they can't send weapons.  I said everything in the box is legal in the UK, but the clerk said "no exceptions!"  Should I try going to a different post office?  Change the wording on the customs form?  Use Fed Ex or UPS instead?  As a last resort I can mail surge a check and just tell him to buy whatever he wants, but that's not nearly as much fun as receiving a surprise package.  I need some help here and I'm open to suggestions.

Oh, what a troubled time we live in, where tools are called weapons and weapons are treated as toys.

Ran into the same when I tried to send Fuzzy a knife. I went to another PO and labelled it as a mutitool instead, no problems with that. You could try labeling it as cutlery and see if that works.   :dunno:
