Does Victorinox make any folders larger than the Hunter Pro and Evoke

I have a weird question.  (or series of questions)

Is the Hunter Pro the largest folding knife that Victorinox has made?
If Not, please let me know of a larger one and whether or not I can get it in Alox.

If it IS the largest, has anyone on here messed around with modding the Hunter Pro to add more layers?

I suddenly had an urge to buy a Victorinox folding knife that would have AT LEAST a 6 inch blade.  I know that the Hunter Pro is very near that length, but I was also hoping to have the bottle opener, drivers, can opener, and wood saw that you can find on the RangerGrip.

It's kind of ridiculous.

You might want to look at the Evoke.  Alox and current production.  I think the Hunter Pro was retired a couple of years ago.  Seems like the Evoke is a successor to that older line.  Best wishes.  G

Thanks, unknowingly, I actually WAS looking at the Evoke in a few of the pictures that I saw.  Doest seem that they make anything that I am looking for.

Yep - No other tools on the Hunter Pro - Or the Evoke
- And I think a mod would be very difficult due to completely different frame and spring construction

I think a Ranger is your best bet.
You've got me thinking too - I am not sure how much larger (ie longer) than the Ranger the HP's blade is!!
- Not much I'd say !   ..... I am off to check!!  :pok:

PS. Maybe a good idea to make your thread title a bit or meaningful - Might prompt more / better responses
Hunter Pro - Does not say a lot to our members about the content of the thread !

Maybe something like - "Are there any configuration options for the Hunter Pro?"
or - What is "Victorinox's largest folder with a saw and drivers?"

Let me know if you want it changed and if so - to what !

I think this cries out for a two-tool solution…

Folders with 6” blades are rare enough, even without the requirement for additional tools.  Maybe check out Cold Steel’s offerings.  Or consider that, if a 6”+ blade is what you need, a fixed blade may be a better option than a folder.

Then add a RangerGrip, Campe, or whatever SAK you want to cover the non-blade implements.

I read this earlier and gave it some thought, actually more than I expected.

The Hunter Pro is a large folder and I like the heft and function of the design. Yet, I actually prefer the Hunter for field work, as the larger grips fit much better in my hand and provides more function via comfort and safety while using.

Then at camp or even in the field I unconsciously always had a SPARTAN or CLIMBER in my pocket or pack, many times both, as the scissors are handy at times.

With those three, there was little I could not accomplish.
Adding a saw blade would be possibility, then I likely packed a SUPERTOOL300 or REBAR, non SAK option.

Still a two tool option, but from my perspective the better option as I could select the 2nd tool with more precise implements for the objective.

PS:  BUCK’s 110, a large lock back folder has been made and or modified with two blades, often the clip point plus a drop point.
Also, CASE makes a simulate model in a swap a blade configuration that is packaged with four or blades that carry within the sheath making it very versatile!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Thanks, Gordon.  I have to admit that I knew where it was all the time.  I just didn't want to 'poke' Barry too hard.  I finally got out my SwissChamp to take a photo or two for today.  First multi I have touched.  Then once I found out that I didn't break out in spots, I found my Wingman and checked it for signs of neglect.  I expect to get out my Bond later today.  Best wishes.  G

LOL

No spots!   Good to know, I jumped in with both feet, needed my fidget fix!

Saw your Swiss Tech SwissChamp picture, looks chilly in NC on the hilltop.

Poke away at Barry, I think he misplaces more gear, bet Mrs R pokes him frequently to feed the dog and take out the garbage.  The poor feller trying to navigate now with a CLASSIC only after sporting an EXECUTIVE awl of December instead of joining us in the TOOLbox.

Nice, I have it in BLACK, it is a beast and do comfortable in my hand.

I mentioned it a few post prior.

The ALOX is pretty and capable. The Hunter is just a blue collar cutter. Not pretty but as abled body as any sharp knife.

I've had this one for a couple of years.  Noah got it and traded it to me for something, lost in the fog of my memory   Its a good solid knife.  I should take it out from time to time.  I like the way it feels in the hand.

Thanks to everybody who answered.  I agree that for practical reasons the solution would be to have a large knife and a smaller tool.  I have a Ranger Grip, (I can never remember the number, maybe 78?)  I love it.  it really is pretty much what I was describing but just too small.  Other companies make suitably large folders, but I needed it to be Victorinox.

Embarrassingly, I'll admit that my sudden desire to find a folding knife the size of my Cold Steel Espada, but one that was made from Victorinox was not fueled by any logical or even practical need.  *FAIR WARNING* what I am about to say is extremely stupid.

I just found this really cool rifle that was for sale.  I'm not going to buy it because it is very expensive.  It's a Sig SG550, It comes with a bayonet.  Sig is a swiss company.  As I was scrolling through the pictures I eventually came to this picture that shows this Swiss emblem on the top of the rifle.  My brain immediately went to this place where I saw myself with this rifle and a giant classic looking SAK being used as a bayonet instead of the one that is on there in the picture.  Then I spent way longer than I am willing to admit looking for a suitable Victorinox knife that could work.  Didn't find one.  :(

The funny plot twist is that even though this would NOT have satisfied me, the bayonet that IS in the picture is actually a Victorinox fixed blade bayonet that goes for hundreds of dollars on ebay.  It looks really cool.  But I wanted a big dumb impractically sized SAK hanging off the end of the barrel.

There you go - Title changed - Hope everyone is still on board with this change.
I'm not sure that Vic can help you though! :(

Although maybe the Vic product development team, and Swiss Military will pick up the idea from your last photo
Love it!!

Just throwing some ideas here, probably not of any use, but for big folding traditional knives look into Opinel.
The No13 is a beast, the No12 explore has a smaller blade, but  still large, and has some tools on it too, making it similar to the idea of a Victorinox.

If you love a corkscrew, the No10 corkscrew has a decent sized blade and a large corkscrew.

In a similar French note, look into getting a Laguiole, where you can easily get 13,- 14cm+ blades and a large corkscrew  and poker, making it a multitool.
Here is a link to one such site:

If you contact them they should be able to make a bigger knife too.

I was beaten to the punch on that one. My thought is that putting tools in one of the big Victorinox folders would require fabricating a whole new backspring, and I don't imagine that's an easy task.

The Victorinox bayonet sure is cool, though!

Those knives have a very pleasant blade shape.

DKS suggested Opinel.  I guess that would also be fun If I were to track down a distinctively French rifle :)

This kind of works, but the Beautiful European Spring Beach wood handles on the Opinels are so iconic that I would probably want to make custom wooden furniture for the rest of the rifle parts out of the same wood.    (like the grip, the hand guard, and the stock)
