I got a Delica recently for the Combo Edge Challenge going on this month. My first Delica. I'm pretty impressed with it.

(Image removed from quote.)

That insert is really informative for me.  My Delica is the first knife I owned that was a non SAK.  As it turns out it's likely the very first generation of Delica as I purchased it in 1991.

That's a nice photo.  It made me go and download a Spyderco catalog.  There are about 50 times more knives than I thought there would be.  My pal used to carry and sell Spyderco.  He sold quite a few to the local guys.  I would be afraid to buy a Spyderco if I saw one for sale at a flea market or something.  I would probably get stuck with a counterfeit.  Best wishes.  G

Thank you very much. Yeah, I agree with you that there is a lot of choice in the Spyderco catalog. For the longest time I was an avid collector and a few years ago I took a step back from that. It got overwhelming with all the sprints, collaborations, and new models.

:iagree: Spyderco can be hard to keep up with. Case is much the same.

TeroTuf has me curious. I've seen it on knifemaking supply sites, and it could be a compelling alternative to Micarta and G-10. What are your thoughts on it?

I love the Delica (and Endura).  Good, solid knives.

Tero Tuf is essentially a safer alternative to working with Micarta. The benefit of using Tero Tuf from what I have read is that it is easier to machine and the dust from the manufacturing process is not as hazardous to your health.

From a finished product standpoint, it is very similar to Micarta. When wet, it get just as grippy as Micarta. From my experience with it, it seems to be just as stable as Micarta. When it gets dirty you clean it with an old toothbrush and dawn dish soap and it looks new. Just like Micarta.

The Delica is my favorite Spyderco Seki knife. When my boys were little and earned their Cub Scout Whittling Chip, they each got a Delica. It is a great first carry. A benefit is the back lock. One of my sons is a lefty. With the Delica, I just moved the clip to the other side for him.

From my experience with it...
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! :hatsoff: And my research has led me to conclude that G-10 is even worse to work with than Micarta.

Spyderco Native Chief Lightweight.  Similar vibe in the hand to the awesome Police 4 Lightweight.

Dragonfly 2

One great little blade. Very lightweight, sharp, and a good clip. VG-10 is holding up really well in the Texas humidity , no rust.

The dragonfly is a great little knife.  I sometimes wear mine in my shirt pocket and everyone thinks it's a pen and never gives it a second look.

Always loved the Delica, but wanted a more substantial handle. Enter the Leafjumper. I'm very happy with it.
