I did mean the Tinker Small.  I have updated the thread to reflect that.  Thanks!

Oooh, that really does make things closer.  I'm still going to fall on the side of the Cadet...but only just.

In that case, definitely Tinker Small.  The small blade is so useful

I think that the Cadet covers most of the bases. Unless the toothpick/tweezers/awl is a must have then the Tinker is the winner.

But the Cadet for me seems to satisfy my urban edc. To be honest it’s really all I need to edc. I carry other stuff more as a just in case.

The cadet hands down for me.

The tinker back mounted Phillips has proved a weak point for me, when I had one buckle the liners undoing a rusty license plate screw. the second thing I don't like about the tinker is the 'newer' cellidor scales with he hollow cavities that break way too easy if dropped on a hard floor. Third, the cellidor scales have a melt point when in contact with certain chemicals in mosquito repellent or some gun cleaning solvents. I have grown to hate the cellidor scales and will always go with alox if available. I can do without the tweezers and toothpick for a more durable tool.

Don't get too serious, just enough will do.

Cadet because I like alox

Carrying the cadet gives you almost a pioneer toolset in a much thinner package. So basically why not just go pioneer? Then you are only a saw away from perfect so carry a farmer! But the scissors sure would be nice to have.........

I'm going to need more coffee. LoL

Cadet works for me!

I would definitely go with the tinker small. I would rather have a small blade than a nail file and even though most people think the backside phillips isn't good I use it a lot and never have any problems. The cadet with its alox scales is definitely more durable and sturdy but the tinker small is easily replaced if broken and has more tool that I use. But maybe I am a little biased because I almost exclusively carry a tinker small at this point.

I'm very sure thats awl I need.  ::)

The number of times in the past few years that I've needed an awl, I can number on one hand with a finger or two left over.

BUT...the number of times I needed to deal with a teeny tiny itty bitty Phillips screw that was too small for the SD tip of the can opener to deal with, the pointy end of the cadet nail file did admirably. And it makes a decent whatever poky tool as well as takes care of a chipped nail. Multiple uses per tool, that's what SAKdom is all about. Besides if I do need an awl, the fixed blade of the classic scissors makes a decent awl.
Don't get too serious, just enough will do.

I vote cadet for the nail file and slimmer profile.
