Even forgetting guns, I'm always amazed at what you can't carry. :-[

You have no idea (you probably do but... ::):poh:

Day 3 Bonus usage

Used the CS half serrated blade to cut the plastic seal on a container of prepared chicken from the grocery store, that I had for lunch today at work

What brand of beer is that? I have not seen it before.
It is Carlsberg from Denmark.

Day 3
Cut open a snack.
(Image removed from quote.)

That's what I need for my snack now!     I've been rummaging though my pantry, uninterested in everything I have.  Off to the refrigerator. And, use  #3 for my knife today

Glad I could help.  I always have cheese sticks in the refrigerator for that very reason.  Frequently, when I also have deli meat, I will wrap a slice around the cheese stick as a hardier snack.

Day 4 of  :dunno:

One of the blades installed in the Schrade ST5E Tough Tool is a combo blade:

Day 4

Packages and letters... first letter I grabbed off the desk to open - slip my knife under the corner and it goes right through.... tried again thinking i'd missed the envelope altogether... slips right through again.  Then I realize that the envelope was already open.     does that count?

I'll be updating throughout the day with my uses like yesterday - turns out that when all you have is a knife blade, everything just needs to be cut or nudged open.   :duel:

Powernoodle Day 4

From what I read, Spyderco was one of the first companies to make a partially serrated blade, and do it right.  They put a lot of R&D time and effort into designing serrations that work really well.

The Cold Steel that I am using now has "designed" serrations.  It has 3 sets of microserrations between one wide serration to each set that can be sharpened with a ceramic rod.  It would be interesting to figure out what pattern of serration is good for what task.

Yeah those old Cold Steel serrations are super fine - though that may not be the best way to describe it.

This current production Cold Steel Vaquero has pretty fine serrations too.  It does have an inch+ of plain edge, so technically it is a combo.  But prolly not in the sense envisioned by the Challenge.

There is an obvious follow-up about cutting the cheese, but I would never say such a thing.   :salute:

Day 04
I've switched to the Skeletool and opened a bag of parts that I then decided I didn't need.
Four days in and I haven't done anything with a combo edge blade that couldn't have been done as well with a straight edged blade.

DAY 4

So a nowhere kind of day at work doing case files (essentially, no use for the Gerber  ::))
However, I found another combo blade that I carry about for most of the day and forgot about  :megaslap:

Here it is opening some mail when I got home this evening  :D

Ah but is there anything that you couldn't do with the combo edge that you would have been able to do with a plain edge blade?  :poke:  :D

I love Cabot Habanero.  It is hard to find around me, but I buy some when I find it.

a few years ago, I was known to bring whole bell peppers to work with a bottle of ranch dressing, cut them up in the break room with my SAK and eat 'em up.

The cheese should not stand alone.  This one's a nice aged cheddar from Australia.... mature cheddar, they say in the UK.  well, I cut the cheddar.

I prefer to fashion the pepper into a cup, fill it with Ranch, drink the Ranch and then eat the pepper.  This is the way of my ancestors.

I used to have my breakfast in it that morning, and then cut it up and dunk it in the ranch for lunch.  I should have used your method. Would have saved me from having to wash a plate.

Very cool.  I was just looking at pictures of this today.... because I'm not the most balanced person I've ever met in terms of what I do in my leisure time.

Looks like Buck found their niche with variations on the Folding Hunter, and is leaving their multitools by the wayside.
