Make Handles Even?
on: December 15, 2023, 05:03:10 PM
So, my Leatherman Curl.

It's fine, aside from the whole gouging-its-own-pliers-head-on-the-inside-of-the-handle-somehow incident...  ::) One issue with it, however, is that the handles don't break evenly when closing the tool. And I don't mean just a little, either. One of the handles is WAY harder to close than the other side of the tool.

I see that there are security torx screws all over this thing, so.... is there a way I can adjust the tension of the handles?

You can get some security torq bits or screwdrivers that are a T10 security bit ( I think it is and may need to check when I get home to be sure ) and you can tension it to whatever you want :salute: I have heard of others having a similar issue with the handles and also on different models over the years, hopefully you can remedy your probelm

Ok, great!

This being my first Leatherman, I wasn't quite sure if the torx screws actually determined the handle tension (or were more related to the exterior tools). Good to know!

It mostly relates to the tools :salute: but you will be able to adjust the handles on the plier side just a bit but not as much as maybe you are thinking :dunno: it would definitely help them close more evenly though :tu:

and it is a T10 security bit
