My initial thoughts of the Curl were - not bad but I wanted a saw instead of the file and it was too close to Wave price. I wasn't sure how I felt about the lack of lock tabs for the internal tools.
Nowadays I think that the lack of lock tabs would make it a bit more pocketable and would'n hurt my use, I can make a saw for it and it's basically a lighter and I believe thinner Wave. Only thing I'd miss is having both serrated and straight edge. And the price situation - I think somewhere in here I wrote that I don't think that the Curl is expensive, but the Wave is cheap. Well, nowadays the prices here are : Curl - 199 BGN, Wave plus 299 BGN. So that makes the Curl a lot more attractive.

Anyhow... I may or may not have ordered one more Leatherman. It may or may not arrive during the coming week. Can't wait  :gimme:

I think you will be pleasantly surprised,  Davis :tu: Congrats :like:

The Wave+ is 150% the price of the Curl? I googled BGN, which returns as the Bulgarian Lev, is that correct? Interesting, that's about $100 USD for the Curl and $150 USD for the Wave+. Our prices (USA) are $90 for the Curl and $110 for the Wave+, or only 122%. I get that things are more expensive when exported, but the Curl price is pretty close to ours, and I don't understand why LM is charging that much for the Wave+. All that said, Curl is my daily carry and I think it's the best tool LM makes for pocket carry. I think it's the best balance of weight to functionality.

:iagree:
I love my Wave+, but it just feels so heavy and bulky after carrying the Curl for over six months.

Yep, Bulgarian Lev. Prices are from the official leatherman.bg website.  Just checked the .de site - same deal - 109 EUR for the Curl, 159 EUR for the Wave +
The percentage difference  may come from various import fees in different price categories. Not sure about Multitools but for importing electronics everything under 200 bgn is charged only with Vat, for everything over it is duty plus Vat.
Edit: now I remembered that electronics are not subject to duties, it’s just that over 200 or 250 bgn there is 20% Vat. The details are not that important because tools are probably subject to duty but the example shows how more expensive items can rise more in costs compared to items under certain price.

Not sure if I should edit my previous post or post another. If I choose wrong - please let me know so I don’t do it again.
So it arrived. What I did not expect were the bigger teeth on the pliers jaws. My Wave is 2nd Gen so it has the fine teeth which I’m used to and like a lot. Not saying that the bigger are worse, just noticing a difference. Will hold on other thoughts for now because it’s still very stiff and gritty action so when I compare it to the Wave I’ve used for years it seems like much lesser quality. I oiled it well and clipped it in the pocket, it will get worked in and butter smooth, like the Wave has.
Here is a pic of what I received today, since the Curl price was just under the “free delivery” minimum I choose him some company - 18cm French style scissors from Victorinox. Love them :)

Glad you got it :woohoo: Even many of the second generation Waves had the bigger teeth in the plier head, you have an older gen 2 and I really haven't noticed a difference between the 2 but that may just be the way I use mine    Hope you get some great use out of it 8) :like:

Thank you, Poncho !
Used it a bit today - my parents love getting my son all kinds of toys - from very simple to complicated mechanisms. Most of them are chineese so they regularly require either a repair or a modification of some kind in order to function. Luckily I enjoy tinkering with all sorts of random things so win-win-win. And being used by a toddler, who's primarily way to play is by banging them together and against the wall does not help  :D So today's mission was a train that has a string in the back. Pull the string, release it, the train moves forward and lights flash. But the plastic cap you were supposed to grab in order to pull the sting was going way too far in the toy, making it too hard to grab. Took a washer, cut a piece of it with hacksaw, shaped it a bit with the pliers and the file of the Curl, glued it in place. Repair worked perfectly, the Curl did a great job.

Great picture Poncho, as usual !

Still carrying the Curl, as I probably be for a while... (at least until a new one arrives  :D)
Today my sister and 3 1/2 year nephew came to visit. I haven't seem them in more than an year. Getting out of the car the, before saying anything else kid says:
Kid: Do you have scissors ?
Me: Ummm yes, I do ?
Kid: Where are they ?
Me: In my pocket.
Kid: Why do you have scissors in your pocket ?
Me: So I can cut things when I need
Kid: Can you cut this (handles me a new toy, wanting to take the label off)
Me: Sure.

About an hour later:
Kid: Hey, did your scissors had pliers ?
Me: Um yea
Kid: Why ?
Me: So I can pinch your nose (opening the pliers and carrying out the threat)

To be honest, I don’t carry my Curl as much as I did previously, because I just recently noticed that the knife blade has a little bit of fore-and-aft wobble in the locked position. I can tighten the pivot screw to stop the wobble, but then the blade is too difficult to open.

Lately I’ve been carrying my OG Wave instead, since it’s about the same size and weight as the Curl and fits the same sheath.

Nothing spectacular... it's just taking a long time because I have very little free time.  My wife keeps the Honey-Do list long.  :ahhh

Why did I have to come in here and read this ?
Now my Curl has wobbles too, thanks to you  :pok:

Joke aside - I did not notice  it until I checked for it just now. And yes - it has pretty good amount of play in both back-forth and left-right directions. The pivot is pretty tightened and the knife is kind of hard to deploy. And now it annoys the smurf out of me

Checked my trusty second gen wave, which is so worked in that the blade opens like if it was spring assisted. No wobble at all. Not cool Leatherman, not cool  :twak:
