I just checked out my new Curl that I have never used, and the blade is fine.

The Curl that I just exchanged the blade has wobble, but I haven't tightened it up yet because I'm still working on it.

I’ve had good and bad luck with blade wobble from Leatherman. For instance, the plain blade that came with my Wave plus wobbled a bit, but I’ve since replaced it with an identical blade from EBay that locks solidly in place. Leatherman’s locking tools in general often have more or less wobble, but I’ve found that the non-locking tools usually don’t wobble at all. I guess it’s the fact that the spring applies constant pressure to slip joint tools.

After a lot of back and forth I decided to grab the curl. I had an extra serrated blade from a charge mod so I threw that in and it's really great. This thing reminds me a lot of the OG wave. Super compact. Love it!

Thanks. Now I just have to figure out how to get the red loctite off the blade

Also, I was looking at Leatherman's site and I was wondering if the OG Wave sheath would work well with the curl? Does anyone know which sheath is the best fitting for the Curl?

I carry my Curl in an OG Wave sheath. It fits perfectly.

If possible, can you send a few pictures?

Is the same as the one on Leatherman's site?

Yes, it’s the Original Wave Heritage sheath. I dyed mine darker brown with Fiebing’s leather dye because I didn’t like the natural leather finish it came with.

I’ve seen complaints about the stitching on the new heritage sheaths coming loose, especially on the belt loop which is stitched on. I smeared superglue over the exposed stitching to try to prevent that. It’s held up pretty well so far.

I've looking at the curl since buying it. I've carried it. Used it. Swapped the blade out for serrated one, then put the straight blade back in. Carried it some more. With almost a decade of usage, I've also experienced probably 80% of Leatheman's catalog  The signal, mut, surge, and a few juice lines are the ones that I have not come across. I can say that after much consideration this may be a perfect Leatherman  :dunno:

One could argue that it would be even more perfect by adding the serrated blade (with hook) and saw on the backside. (I agree) this would make it the perfect Wave 3.0 so hear me out.

It's slender like the OG Wave - this cannot be underestimated. This thing carries really slim and light. Especially compared to the charge.
OHO Blade
Awl (which everyone wants on the wave platform)
Built in and removable pocket clip
No eyeglass screwdriver. (as a eyeglass wearer myself I much prefer the mini driver on the 91mm saks)
Leatherman's well known tools (bit exchanger, flat driver, etc...)

I am super picky. Never satisfied with any tool. I always feel like a slight tweak here or there is always necessary. But I really cannot think of one thing I would change on the Curl. Honestly. The serrated blade, saw, and replaceable wire cutters would be nice additions but for the urban edc user, not necessary. If I needed that I would rather have this exact same tool set with those additions. Again please Leatherman. Wave 3.0  :bnghd:

There are quite a few mixed reviews out there. And I am not knocking anyone for it. IMO I really do think the Curl is perfect. At least as humanly possible. It does make me wonder what a Wave 3.0 (or Mini Surge) could look like. Outside components being blade, smaller surge scissors, saw, and file, and putting the serrated blade from the sidekick where the wave scissors used to be  Or implement a new chisel / scrapping tool

Either way. I'm loving the curl. Great work Leatherman

Great thoughts and I feel very similar about the Curl :tu: it is a very nice lightweight carry :like: It is very similar to the OG Wave and that makes it a very awesome tool indeed 8) :like:

We actually would be on Wave 4.0 for the next version since the Plus version is technically 3.0

I did consider that but the plus feels like a 2.5. not a full upgrade but a slight tweak with the replaceable cutters. OG wave to the next gen was an obvious difference. So a 3.0 would be nice to have a serious upgrade, slender frame like the curl, updated tool set, etc.. that would make it feel like a new tool altogether

After nearly 30 years of my modest Leatherman experience, I can agree the Curl is the best Leatherman so far for urban EDC for me.
