You mean Victorinox. Yes its mine
on: August 13, 2021, 07:18:30 AM
Hello
Sometimes I think am phsyco about knives specially saks. "If it was an island, I would be the most wanted man on my island. Yes its mine".
I know am in good company . I chose the spartan on the topic but anybody can put their favourite sak/knife.

One day I needed to pick my teeth, it was dark, I reached for the spartan in my pocket, and pulled the tweezers instead. I was dissapointed, that I didnt know the pick location.

Then I had this thought, do I know all the tools" locations without looking? I tell you, I tried guessing and failed a lot.

I assume the modders and experts here would not fail as I did. But its fun to try for all. I got some examples and sure everybody can add some:

1. Is the toothpick on the awl side or the corck screw side.
2. Which end is the can openner, the wide end or the narrow? Is it on the side of the shield scale or the other?
3. The scale with the shield, is it on the top of the blade layer?
4. Which openner is on the small blade side?

I think you got the idea.
Regards

The first two things I do with every tool are figure out how to open everything one-handed, and learn how to open every implement without looking.

1: The toothpick is on the CS/PH side.

2: The can opener is on the narrow end, usually shield side (except on ad knives

3: Usually it is on top of the openers, but those produced for imprinting by advertising companies (in scale colors red, black, green, yellow, and blue) usually have it on top of the blades; as do many official Victorinox advertising knives; and some special editions

4: Cap lifter/bottle opener

How?  Stupid, fumble fingers here can't figure out how you open a 91mm (Tinker) one handed. Would like to be able to do that.

"I'll play your game, Trebek..."  I found the toothpick without looking, but the openers were too difficult for me.

I really don’t know my EDC SAKs well at all. Literally anything besides a Pioneer/Soldier requires that I hunt for some, if not all, of the tools.  Even the One Handed Trekker requires inspection to find the overhang on the saw.

I can't say it's something I like doing, to be honest... Any time I have a folder on me, like this past weekend, it's a welcome change to quickly open the only tool.

Still... I can't do without a SAK

My 91s are currently all a megametre away, but I have a Farmer X with me.

I had to really slow down and ponder, because it's something I just do without thinking.

Note: the lanyard in the second GIF is attached to a belt loop, as during a recent canoe trip.
