As the title states, I had a great day traveling to Manitoulin Island. This time around, we went to Mindemoya where there is this awesome outdoor shop called the Up Top Sports Shop at D.A. Williamson & Son. It is located on the second floor of the hardware store there. This is where I found a black oxide BuckTool 360  a few years ago. I went there to see what else they had. I was surprised to see they have that BuckTool still in stock at $99 Canadian. I did find other goodies that I was about to order online. Finding the SOG and Gerber Slim was very convenient as I had been eyeing them recently. I also added a few interesting and unique utility knives...and that is always a good thing.

Here is a group shot of my day's haul.

1. Sheffield Rhino Utility Knife. This appears to be now discontinued and this is the first I have ever seen or heard of this model. So old that the rubber is starting to denature on the handles. I think I read online that acetone might clean that up. Stores 6 interesting blades, but will accept standard utility blades.

6. Swiss+Tech Hammer Tool. Everyone puts their logo in these for some reason.

Nice haul indeed!

I have seen a knife dealer selling "Sheffield Rhino" blades, but didn't know what they went to.

I am kinda stuck on multifunction utility knives right now. I want one, but I'm not sure if I want the Gerber Prybrid or Outdoor Edge Sidewinder.

I now have both. I think the edge goes to the Slidewinder. Here is why I like this better than the Gerber.

1. More ergonomic. The shape works nicely.
2. The blade is easily replaced and better yet, the blade retracts with a press of the button. I find the Gerber Prybrid blade sticks a little. I guess a bit of oil might make that better.
3. Has a pocket clip. The Prybrid needs one.

Well, it does say so in the tool itself...

I like it has a metal back. It looked awl plastic in the first pic.

  :tu:

Very nice haul.  That Outdoor Edge Sidewinder looks like a handy little cutter.
