Leatherman Tool Pouch by Pacsafe
on: July 13, 2023, 07:30:08 PM
One of the items I saw while looking for a Squirt PS4 on my local Leatherman website (yes, still available!) is a Tool Pouch which I hadn't seen (any reports on) so far. I decided to order that too. See pics. Looks well enough made, size is about 16 × 8 × 2,5 cm or so.

Packs a little more than just your Leatherman multitool, thanks to two full width inner liner pockets on either side, with a further pocket sleeve sewed onto each, making room for 2 pockets on one side and 3 on the other. Would fit a small tool kit that includes LM bit cards for instance, plus a light and a pen and smaller items.

Edit: unfortunately larger smartphones will not fit (tested with Samsung Galaxy S20).

PS don't mind the pizza box in some of the pics, that was a spontaneous craving

It looks to be a good size with reasonable features, and Pacsafe make some decent kit - I've had one of their wallets in my back pocket every day for about 17 years straight, and it's still pretty darn solid.

My only gripes with this pouch are that it lacks a left-hand hinge and doesn't unzip all the way. I'd prefer a more open layout for better kit organisation.

I feel you - but it's clearly meant for belt/carabiner carry and then a hinge and wraparound side zip would make less sense...

I'd normally suggest simply not unziping it all the way... but I also have a pouch with a solution for that - Two short velcro straps that wrap over the zip, so the pulls only slide part way. It's a chest-mounted admin  pouch, but designed to be either top-opening only, or to unzup fully and open out so the two halves sit at 90º. No reason why it wouldn't work on a smaller pouch, and it's an easy mod to implement.
