Almost a SwissChamp
«

My first SAK mod ever was what I christened the "Handy Explorer", which was a Handyman in which the pliers were replaced by the magnifying glass layer from an Explorer. Well, I decided to add the pliers back to create a SAK that is
almost
a SwissChamp, lacking only the fish scaler.
Here is the exploded view.

I like the tool set, but for a shorter name you could go with SwissChamp Minus.

I considered that, but I didn't like the implication of inferiority that "minus" carries. I thought about "PlierChamp", but all of the variations of the Champion had the fish scaler.

Here she is! A brand-new Tinker sacrificed its scales and knife blades in order for the Master Ranger Deluxe (thanks, Poncho!) to have a "new" feel. Aside from slightly weak snap on both blades, slightly deformed outer liners, and mangled bushings that cause the scales to not fit perfectly, I'm pretty satisfied with my latest attempt at SAK modding.

I have never really had a use for the fish scaler myself either

Thank you!
This particular case wasn't so much of not having a use for the fish scaler, but rather of not having a fish scaler to put in. Otherwise I would've gone ahead and built myself a spare SwissChamp!
