Day 2

Today Ted helped with chores, cut some baler twine and opened a bag of minerals. No pictures of actual work, it was still dark. Then off on a quick morning hunt. Ted cleaned a few geese, again no pictures of that, hands were a bit dirty.
Big weather difference between the hunting grounds and my place, only 40 miles.
Ted also works as a measuring device!

Cool dog! And you're already dealing with snow?

I wish everyone could have one!
I'm pretty sure that a mod is as close as I could get (for now). It is a very cool model.

Day 2

The Farmer X got some pretty typical use today: opening packages. I awlways endeavor to clean off tape residue as soon as possible.

6.67% done! Wow!

Reattached a wall-mounted crank sharpener with the small driver, reattached a glasses arm with the small driver, fixed a tattered book with the scissors and small blade (there was packing tape involved), and a random assortment of forgettable little things.

I picked up a fry press this weekend, and I'm finally getting around to setting it up!

In the background: a cheap air fryer, and a Jack-o-lantern that's just excited the knife isn't after it this time.

The styrofoam packaging was pretty tight, and rather than turn the box upside-down, I just made a handle with the corkscrew.

This is always fun.

Okay, this thing is made of steel, steel, and more steel. What on Earth is all this packing protecting?

Ludicrous!

Old Kid offered moral support while the Knipex Pliers Wrench XS tightened the nuts and bolts.

This is also a fantastic tool.

Assembled!

Ready to mangle some taters!

I love the Yeoman, it is one of my favorite models.  I know some hate the combo tool, but I like the layer reduction and the mag glass/phillips layer is also useful, especially for aging eyes.

Tape residue is awful, especially if it gets on scissors.

It's a new pack from pacsafe and is the smallest I had in a long time. 25l but I hope it's enough

Nice use and congrats on the new pack

That looks like a nice hunting haul.  Does Ted get to help with the processing?

As far as weather, I remember as a kid, we lived in what they called the snow belt and could experience a drastic weather difference just 5 miles away.

Very true. I've cut tape whose residue was so disgusting it turned half of my Super Tinker's blade tan!

I agree on all counts.  I find the combo tool to be very effective, and I don't ever miss the standard openers when I have one.  However, I do miss the awl frequently.  For this reason I view a SAK with the combo tool as "urban carry" for the most part, unless I'm carrying another MT with an awl as a combo with it.

Stay tuned, I will be carrying several other discontinued models in the coming days that are closely related to the Yeoman.  :SAKnight:

Yes Ted performs the skinning or peeling. A fillet knife is better to remove the breasts and legs. If no fillet knife then Ted does it all.
We live in one of those snow belts. Lake effect really gets us until the big water freezes up, usually in February. Today we are up to 9" so far.

Great pictures so far awl!

Like the new scales.  So what’s cooking?

Thanks Sos! My wife bought a book with recipes of traditional brazillian desserts (very good). She want to try one recipe for week. (Or: Hevy will go to the kitchen and make one different recipe every week.)

Day 2! Disco!

A nice day!

The TG opened a package with new cutlery for my wife.

And I took the TG and the kids to small walk in a park here in the city were we live.

It is for sure.  Actually, I feel that way about the 84mm file as well.  At least we've seen a return of the saw in recent years in the Walker.

The 84mm size is equally as useful for most of my uses as the 91mm, and it does make a noticeable difference in the pocket.
I second the like for the smaller size. When I did the Daredevil Challenge a few months back, I used a Delemont Evolution S557. I had many issues with that SAK, but I did like the 85mm size, compared to the 91mm I usually carry.

SAKs:
58mm: Bijou (3), Classic SD (7), Mini Champ Plus (mod), Alox Classic SD, Rambler (3), Companion
65mm: Wenger Esquire
74mm: Executive
85mm: Evolution S557, Traveler,
91mm: Champion "c", Swiss Champ (4), Explorer (3), Deluxe Tinker, Huntsman, Serrated Spartan/Weekender, Explorer Plus, Deluxe Explorer Plus (mod), Outdoorsman Plus, Champion "a", Champion Plus, Timekeeper Alarm, Golfer
93mm: Pioneer Alox
