DAY 26 I wanted to load some shotgun shells tonight but all of my components were boxed up.  Gerber was called upon.  :salute:

Day 26

Amazon should just set up a fulfillment center next to my house.  It would probably save them a lot of money.

Let us know how you like it.  Someone recently recommended it to me, but it is very pricey compared to other chargers with similar or better charging ability.  I'm sure the cost is due to the slimmer size, but I would love to hear your review.
Sure,
I was about to get a 18650-based power bank for sturdiness, battery longevity (I mean nb of cycles before cell "death"), ease of repair ...
But I was sold to "my handbag is already heavy as f****", so every gram gained is good... And "carbon fiber"  :twak:
Still, I will get a n*18650 pack, but one you can swap batteries and either use it to charge batteries or charge things from the batteries

Day 27

I took apart a wind up torch, to scavenge the bearing I thought was inside. Turns up it was only a weak magnet.

I've never opened one of those before. Is there a capacitor in there somewhere?

There could have been, but I didn't really look. I only kept the magnet and the copper wire coil and threw away the rest.

DAY 27  I never did get to loading last night, so I started this morning.  When I switched charge bars, I used the Knipex to tighten the bolt.  Not exactly optimal, but in keeping with the spirit of the challenge I ignored the adjustable wrench on the bench behind me.

I usually use Wenger awl (the best for the task) or Victorinox corkscrew for loosening tight knots ... This time I use a dedicated tool  :D

Indeed it would, but I'm the one who limited myself.  Better yet would be the 5" pliers wrench that I bought myself.  The problem is that my wife opened the package and thought she had bought it off my wish list for my birthday...in February.

Actually my 7" pliers wrench was a few steps away, but again, I set my own rules.  :twak:

Actually the small flashlight (AAA/10440 battery inside) is helping/disturbing lighting the knot  :duel:

Moving the saddle forward a little on my stationary bike. As with many cheap (I paid less than $200 CAD for it 12 years ago) exercise machines, it has a weird combination of different bolt and screw heads. Hex bolts, slot screws, Phillips bolts and screws, and eye bolts, all on the same machine? Get outta here!

Oh, yeah — and hex nuts with all thread.

The bare bones of this exercycle are pretty good, but the accessories were poor. One of these days I'll get an okay picture of the whole thing, and compare it to its original specs.

DAY 28  Headed out to a fairly remote preserve to check out the stars tonight.  I doubt I'll need pliers, but I always take a knife.

Day 28

I haven't used my favorite utility knife to break down boxes for several months because I have been on one challenge or another,  It just dawned on me that as long as it is single purpose, which it is, I can swap it in and out of my "toolbox".  Since I had a lot of packages to open and a lot of boxes to break down today, I decided to use my Gerber Superknife Edge instead of my Kershaw.

Day 28

This is the down side to having tools: My wife expects me to use them for her projects  :ahhh

Disassembling the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, no... 4th table we have had since we bought this home 2.75 years ago  :o

No, this won't take long to assemble said the person who doesn't do the assembly:

The tools used for the assembly:

The final product, an island for her to use as a prep table and a place for the grandkids to sit and eat:

Later, I will set up a pool so that everyone can predict how long this island/table lasts before replacement.
