You probably know how I feel about them Yay (Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)etc etc etc
I don't own any, but not because I dislike that finish. Rather, it's because I'm primarily a Swiss Army knife fan. I would consider buying a black oxide tool (and almost did at one time, but that's another story).

Nay. I don't like the way it rubs off on your hands. Besides, I like my tools shiny.Let the abuse commence.
Very nice pic Echo The Swisstool is still a bit shiny despite the blackening
I think they look professional and the the anti-glair quality is definitely a bonus. (Image removed from quote.)
Nope.. for a host of reasons. It's not necessary for tools, it wear off easily, and it's not great at corrosion resistance. The only thing BO is good for is a finish that doesn't reflect light.
I didn't enlarge the initial photo during my first read of the post, so I missed the Spirit X. Very nice collections from all!The black oxide tool I almost bought was a Gerber EOD model. One of the ITs aboard my ship had one, and I thought it was really cool. However, I don't recall why I didn't go through with the purchase. Most likely it was too much for me to want to spend at the time.
The biggest issue I have with black tools (and knives) for EDC is that they are hard to see compared with SS or bright colours. If you drop a BO tool in the dark then you will probably need a torch to find it.
Spartan PS?
