That’s an expensive Mechanic!

This auction claims this is some rare run of the mechanic, but I feel this price is ridiculous.



Funny enough to just looking at listing caused eBay to send me a best offer that’s already $24 less than his asking price. More evidence this is priced way too high. People are just taking advantage of collectors now.

They may be a discontinued model, but you can easily find them on the $20.00 range on the secondary market. If you like this model, I would recommend that you go with the Deluxe Tinker, more bang for your buck.

Ya I don’t even want this. I just looked at listing as I couldn’t understand the price. I think the seller has an uphill battle selling at this crazy price.

My money is on this being a rescaled and refurbished knife.

Crazy. Last week I bought Mechanics at the Victorinox factory store for CHF 27.-  (equivalent of $ 29)

I thought it was bad enough - super rare…I have 5 and sold 3 type of thing. And here’s a few more things I have like that.  ;)

Almost just as crazy was a Mechanic ‘Jr.’ mod that bid over $100 USD, but didn’t hit the reserve. It isn’t even built “correctly”. Relisted I think.

It's exactly the same model and green color I'm EDC'ing for many years..
But now I think I will store this super rare collector's item in my vault.  ;)

The Slide Lock Workchamps from this seller aren’t as crazy marked up, but they want $30 more than I can get them for from reputable sellers that I’ve bought from before. Buy multiples, and still marks up more than $16 over. Nutzo!  :facepalm:
