Thanks to both Barry and Poncho. New mod is coming after few days, when I get the parts.  I'm going to make wave/rebar hybrid.

Managed to add a sewing kit to my Wingman by way of a new pocket clip.

I have been running it for a while with the standard torx screw, learnt pretty quickly that you need to use extra durable thread but other than that it worked fine as a pocket clip. With the addition of a thumb screw (wingman family use No.6-40 threads btw) I can now get the kit off to use it without also having to carry round a torx driver

did you add Micra flathead to it or did you mod blade as flathead?

Rebar question for everyone.  On the inside of the handles, near the pliers, there is a small forked piece of metal that's riveted inside. Does this actually do anything? I've been opening and closing my Rebar for the last 10 minutes and I honestly can't see that it has a purpose like in other tools which use this to lock the knife shut when the pliers are open.

Should this part be non-functional, I would like to remove it. I have 6 tools on one side and I have to carefully move my saw a little to the left of this so the pliers have room to fit in the handle between the longer inside tools. With this little (CENSORED ) out of the way, it would be much nicer to use, especially when I hand it to someone during a fire call. Most times I find that person trying to figure out how to get it closed a short time later.

Thanks,
Craig

That little piece keeps tension on the plier head and keeps the tool from flopping open I believe  Might be best to leave it :ahhh

I agree. I believe that removing that piece would take the tool from being too stiff to being way too floppy.

:iagree: , but how come supertool 300 doesn't have/need same tension mechanism?

I'll answer to my self. I went to check my supertool.  Supertool 300 has small washers between the plierhead and pivot. Maybe you could do the same trick with a rebar and replace that strange fork thing with washers.

You could remove those forks inside pliers but pliers comes bit floppy after it. Otherhand you can easily open and close pliers bit like on PST models.
