Thanks for the kudos, guys, but I really needed a break from challenges.  Seriously, Zephon was having problems, it was Christmas, and it was a chance for me to step up like so many members of this forum do.   :D

With only 5 participants, I am a little worried about this challenge,   :(

 Why you worried? I will still be doing the challenge whether we get a badge or not  I just want to see how far the  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh !!!MINI!!! :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh can go and that is the point of the challenge for me  :tu: you may have to carry something else with it to address its shortcomings but if you have to use something else then you just tell what and why

I guess you are right, but the badge is a little extra incentive to keep going if the challenge gets difficult.

For me the Mini is a piece of Leatherman history the like of which may never be seen again. It’ll be great to see the Mini be used as a primary and I agree that, if it feels like the Mini isn’t up to the task, better change tools.

Beyond that, I’m gonna save my thoughts on the Mini and some jobs for it for the February challenge!

I believe you can earn the Discontinued SAK/MT badge if you complete the challenge.

I will try.

02. Rich_SD
03. Fireman —> Zephon
04. Adam5
05. Alan K.
06. King_Gorilla

I work on construction sites every day so I pull out my Signal at least once or twice a day.  I am worried about the lack of saw and hammer, but I will make due.  The biggest issue will be finding a place to carry all the other stuff that is in my MT sheath like my flashlight, sharpie, etc.
If we make it the whole month do we get a badge?

Welcome to the challenge

We are working on getting badge for it but if not you can apply for the Discontinued MT badge :tu:

You can carry the  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh !!!MINI!!! :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh in your regular sheath with all your other stuff :tu:

And if you have to use something else MT related that your normal MT would have covered then just tell what was sued and why :salute:

I guess I have one more week to make up my mind. It's either the Mini for a month or the Soldier for three.
And I want both badges, so this is tough.

Decisions, decisions...
(Image removed from quote.)

So many people do SAK challenges, it's easy to get lost in the crowd.  Walk a different path with the elite crazy few.

I'm out. I'd forgotten about the partially serrated blade challenge which I had agreed to participate in before this one so I'm going to do that instead, but if this proves to be as popular as I expect it to be I'll do it some other time.  Good luck to you brave few who are taking up the banner.

I have made my decision. :-[
I had joined the 90 Day Soldier Challenge long before this one was announced, and if I do not do the 90 day one with others, I will never get to do it again. If the Mini gets its own badge, I can do it at a later date.
So good luck and I will be following your mini adventures.

Whether or not we can earn a Mini Tool badge, I have decided to take a different approach to challenges. Badges are nice, but the process of earning them can be a bit of drudgery. I like that a challenge provides motivation to interact with a tool or knife that perhaps you would not spend much time with. However, after spending 6 out of 7 months in a challenge, I am tired of not being able to carry stuff that I want to carry.

So, from here on out I am going to worry much less about earning badges and much more about having fun and interacting with other members. I plan to carry a Mini in February, but I may carry other items also. For example, I will definitely be carrying and using one of my modded pocket knives with the Mini:

I plan on using the Mini, but I won't be hesitant about using the Multiforce knife if that is what I want to do. I think the two of them will make a great combo, and I plan to test that out.

Sounds very good to me :salute: I know that the   :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh !!!MINI!!! :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh is very limited and built both a SAK and my first Charge Knife to compliment it :salute:

These challenges should be more about fun and using the tool and seeing what all you can do with it but also knowing that there are limitations :tu:

As I have said previously, if the Mini can't handle it and you have to use something else, then just mention what the task was it was lacking in and what you ended up doing and using instead

I enjoy having tools with me so I don't have to go looking for something, I will probably carry either a knife, small SAK or the Charge Knife, I will for sure try my best to use the Mini if at all possible but if it can't handle the task at hand, then I will try something that can :salute:

If you don't mind I will chime in here from time to time to see how you are all doing with your Minis. This should be a fun challenge  :ahhh

The Mini Tool is part of my EDC when I'm out to town. I pair it with a SwissCard Lite.

I have neglected my 93mm Vic. Soldiers for nearly a year and want to find out why. So I'll be trying the 90 Day Soldier challenge   :salute:
