Should have guessed others would like one-piece tools
on: November 02, 2021, 09:47:14 PM
I just stumbled across the board while mildly looking for an upgraded SwissMemory USB stick for my tiny Victorinox SwissFlash. I thought I was the only one who thought assembling a keychain of tools was an interesting hobby. Picture contents, clockwise from top:

- Old carabiner
- Tiny torch with push to shine and locking switch (needs a smaller secondary ring)
- Keysmart scissors
- Nite Ize DoohicKey QuicKey
- A pitiful knife in key shell from Harbor Freight

All hooked on a simple split loop keyring. Sits pretty well in the hand after most pullouts from coat or jeans pocket.

I'm thinking of adding a laser pointer, Philips driver, and an ink pen.

Welcome aboard, rolson!

  :salute:

Those tiny lamps are called "fauxton" (since they're a knock-off of the Photon).

Pretty nice small setup you got there.

A lot to like... freely available, cheap to try out, don't care if you lose it, easy to add to your grocery bill without the wife noticing... that is until you acquire a drawer full and the wife gives you the look and does this  ::)

Torch, tape measure, tool. Pick 2.

Honestly, has to be paired with either my Micra or Minitool.

I stopped carrying a flash light because the phone’s light is good enough for most situations. Tape measure is always useful for me, especially when shopping. I would go with the one piece  tool and the tape measure.

Yes, a blade is essential. Add the key knife you have. Aa you pointed out need to keep the expectations low with these kind of tools.

These are part of my key chain tools. Not part of my EDC because I have a leatherman with me always. When I fly I pick one out. But now I am going to pick a few like you

Not necessarily OPTs, I've about finalized my keyring tool carry.
Streamlight  Nano flashlight,
Gerber Shard pry tool,
And my beloved Victorinox Alox MiniChamp.

It's a quirky carry for some but it suits me well.

Nice .  Love Shard Pry tool. Was carrying a similar one for a while too.

Ok I’m impressed.
It’s a modest collection compared to others. I stopped a few years ago and helping my kid with her collection now.
