Fixing My Father's Old Wengerinox
on: November 14, 2021, 07:07:40 PM
I recently acquired my father's old Wengerinox. Unfortunately the metal spring on the scissor tool is broken. The tip of the corkscrew is also broken but it's still functional. I'm interested in having the scissors fixed. Is something like that covered under the warranty and is it worth sending back to have Victorinox fix it?

I don't even know when it was made. I'd guess the late 50's or early 60's but I couldn't find it in the SAK Wiki. I'm also not sure if the key ring loop is something that it came with or if my dad installed it himself. (Installing one himself is totally something he'd do).

Any information that you guys can provide would be much appreciated!

Cool knife!

  :tu:

I'd say to send some pics to Victorinox and ask them if they can repair it and at what cost. Hope you can get it fixed!

 :salute:

Thanks everybody for the replies! I had no idea these old knives were so popular! I'll definitely reach out to Victorinox and see if they can repair it.

Interesting! 1960-63 is definitely the right time frame. What does the 912 mean?

912 is possible catalog number of this knife. We have c.1963 catalog pages with  few catalog numbers of old pre-1963  and new post-1963 knives and we can assume that your knife is mod.912
