Reverse shield scales
on: November 29, 2021, 10:57:15 PM
Does anyone know of a source for non advertising reverse shield scales?  I’ve been wanting to make a reverse shield knife, and my hang up, is finding a blank scale for the front of the knife.  The one advertising scale I have would need some sanding to get to the logo, and I want to avoid that as much as possible.  Thanks in advance.

I haven’t found a source of blank front scales either. Cleaning silkscreened or printed ones is all I know of.

Keep looking. Some promotional products companies do sell their blanks that have unprinted front scales individually, and without any imprint.

Sanded on the logo then polished it.  It came out nicely, Climber with long nail file.

Or... you could go double-shield. That'd be great, too!

Overkill, IMO. I’ve done it and it s as always seems weird. Then I change one back to blank. The only double shield I’ve left on the knife is a 90° rotated one on the front, which I put there myself. Kinda like the 58mm Ricola scale.
