Ideas for a January 2022 challenge
on: November 24, 2021, 05:44:32 AM
October's Delemont Challenge was a lot of fun. The current "choose your own adventure" challenge continues to be fun. I'd like to keep the fun rolling with a challenge for December 2021.

I realize that it's a little short in the notice department, but that's okay. With the holiday season upon us, the SAK challenge for December 2021 should be one that participants can complete with SAKs they already have (in other words, don't buy a new one solely to participate in this challenge).

Camper, Fieldmaster, and Minimal SAK are three badges I could earn using the "must already have" criteria. I'd be most interested to hear any and all ideas, as well as input from the moderating team. What say ye?

1. Farmer X: Minimal SAK, Camper, or Fieldmaster (depending on where the chips fall)

So it is a best practise not to have overlapping challenges? I am a new member so I do not know the rules... Otherwise I would be interested in the Minimal challenge. I do not have an Executive so can't participate in the Chuck Yeager challenge.

Yes, it is. For some damn reason, I thought that one got pushed a month forward.

I'm also unsure how that works. Might be best not to have two running concurrently. I'll see about getting the title of this one changed out to a January 2022 challenge and lengthening the poll.

Edit: have contacted SteveC about altering or deleting this thread. If it is determined the latter course of action is preferable, I'll post up a new thread.

Has there ever been a magnifying glass challenge? As in, carry any SAK with a magnifying glass? I'm sure that most would default to the Explorer or SwissChamp, but the category also opens up the challenge to some more uncommon retired Victorinox SAKs and a whole bunch of Wengers.

Plus my modified Handyman with magnifying glass.

Current SAKs: Explorer, SwissChamp, Handyman (modded), Climber, Super Tinker, Tinker, Woodsman (modded), Electrician, Pioneer, SwissTool, Executive, Ambassador, Champion Plus
Current Leatherman tools: PST, Original Wave, Wave, Wave+, Blast, Bond, Curl, Style PS, Micra

Fieldmaster gets my vote. But pick your own opens up for more options. Always have a 58mm, usually rambler, on my keys so there's that as well.

If so, there was never a badge created for it. Cool idea, though.

Fieldmaster gets my vote.
That's one I'll get to eventually. And not many have that badge.

I voted for the minimum, or 2 layer maximum. This would add creativity with the limited tool selection as in the current challenge, expanding knowledge by seeing what does or doesn't work.
