Who else is playing Wordle?

Seems most people nowadays are playing Wordle.  I've been at it for a little while myself, and so far I have resisted the urge to post my results on Social Media.... mostly.

Good job!  More often than not I do it in 4.

What are your starting words?

Today I used RAISE, but I do mix it up a bit.  I try and get as many vowels figured out as I can, and then fill in the constanants once I've figured out the most likely word structure.

4 is my average also. I did lose the first time because I did not read the directions and didn't fully understand the clues  :D



I have used RAISE, STAIR, and STARE. Today I decided to use ROAST. My strategy is the same as yours.

I find that strategy works best, at least for me.  Beyond the vowels I use the Wheel of Fortune method of trying to use the letters RSTLN as soon as possible, although I also add D to that list.  As you can see from the number of times I went to 5 and 6 guesses, it doesn't always work!   :ahhh

I've also tried Lewdle and Sweardle, but in the end I didn't much care for them so I stopped playing.

Good job!

When the word was COULD the other day, a friend of mine was having trouble with it.  He asked me for a hint and I responded with "I could, but that would be cheating."

He didn't pick up on it, and so every comment for the next ten minutes or so included the word could. 

I even said something like "this could be one of those things you are going to feel silly about when you get it."

Going back through the texts, I said the word could 11 times, and even at one point put "U are getting cold" which was another hint because I never use shortcuts on words- text speak annoys me...

But he eventually got it on his own!   :D

I think you UK based players have one up on us over here since it is a UK based game. 

On this side of the pond no one uses the word Shire unless they are talking about Hobbits, but there it was last week!

Great job Kev!

A friend of mine sent me a text yesterday with his Wordle results. I was driving so I asked Google to read the message to me (I didn't know it was just Wordle results) and laughed my ass off when it read out all of the blocks.

"Two black squares, yellow square, black square green square emoji.  One black square two green squares, one black square, one green square emoji."

And on and on.  Each time it said emoji was the end of a line, and he got it in 5, so Google described an awful lot of squares by the time it was done!
