Pretty sweet keychain light
on: January 26, 2009, 04:54:00 AM
I don't have any pictures of this one yet, but it is well worth getting- and coincidentally, Marc at EDCDepot.com just happens to have them in stock:

https://edcdepot.com/merchantmanager/product_info.php?cPath=5&products_id=237

I was amazed not only by the small size of this light, but also how bright it is.  It is powered by a few watch batteries, but is super bright- in fact, it had one of the other doormen at the bar I work at giggling like a school girl when he turned it on.  Hey, I warned him not to look in the end when he turned it on, and he's seen so many of my other lights that he should have known better, so it's not my fault that he had spots in front of his eyes for the rest of the night!

The Nano is smaller than most spy capsules, and I can pretty well guarantee that you will forget this thing is on your keychain.  I'll post some pics tomorrow, but the Nano is the perfect light for folks who find the Photon Lights too big and bulky!

I've ogled that more than a few times on Marc's site and wondered how good they were. The size and price is sweet enough to buy several to keep stashed around

I have been looking at them there too, and just never remembered to order it along with the other stuff I was ordering.  I always considered it an "add on" rather than something to make a specific order out of, but now I'm not so sure.  I'd be happy ordering quite a few of them and handing them out to friends and family, as well as stashing one in each car, some in PSK's etc.

Heck, you could hang one from the zipper on every coat you own and still not have spent a bunch!

I picked one up at Basspro in Vegas last month.   It is a nice light and the clip is nice also.

What cells does it take and how long do they last.  Any kind of regulation or am I just kidding myself at this size?

I dunno  , for a guy I own a suspiciously large amount of coats.  ;)

Good looking torch though.

Finally, here's some pictures!

That's a CR123 battery and a AA.

You can see it's significantly smaller than the KeyMate, which is a pretty small light by itself.

Just as bright as the KeyMate though!

And, it makes the Micra look HUGE!

Tell me about it... we were trying to be good at Cabelas and LL Bean in September, but even so it wasn't cheap!

I may have to pick a couple of those up next time I go to Bass Pro Shops. Fortunately(or unfortunately if you ask my wife or wallet) I live near one. In fact the original one in Springfield MO.

Your too nice.  I let them get on with it then point and laugh.

Luckily what with my torches being so much dinkier these days it doesn't hurt so much when they then  :twak: me with them.

4 LR41 coin cell batteries. Run time is about 8 hrs.

Thanks. That's an impressive runtime and LR41 batteries are cheap enough so long as you don't buy them from a jeweller.

I'm actually terribly torn right now on this subject.  The nano looks awesome because its so TEENY tiny, but still impressively bright.  However, for not much more size you get the same brightness and exponentially longer runtimes with the keymate (I think its speced at 96 hours!).  I'm puzzled....This might be one where I end up getting both though :D.  I like the little pocket clip on the keymate too haha.
