May 2022 Swisstool Super Challenge
on: February 20, 2022, 02:09:06 AM
Is there any interest in holding a Total Swisstool Challenge?  It's been awhile since I last did one with either version of the Swisstool, and I'd love to do one again.  I picked May because I'll be fresh off the Military Challenge, and there's usually a ton of handiwork to be done in the Spring (or Fall, depending on which side of the globe we're at).  With the new OHO Swisstool variety, it might be a good chance to put them to the test.

I'll be keen to do one with my new Spirit. Most days will be food prep, but I think on weekends and bike riding days there may be more uses.

I could be up for this  I have a Swisstool & MXBS  :tu:

The only issue is that carrying in the UK is a bit erm...difficult  ::)

Effectively, I'd be restricted to work or home/house type carry which would limit usage somewhat  :dunno:

Pete, that's fine!  I find most of my usage is culinary too.  Surge, we can make that work. I'm really interested in seeing that MXBS at work :tu:  I'd love to have you guys along on this!  Shall I start a list?

Glad to have you Pete!

I think it will be fun. I have not done a challenge in a while. New tool, new challenge. My last Signal challenge was a surprise how much I liked the tool; how user friendly and underrated it was. I have no doubt I will like the Spirit, hell I do already!!!

It's been a long time since I edc'd the Spirit, so I'm looking forward to it.  I EDC it's bigger brother for work.  The biggest reason I carry it is because of the ruler, which I use for my job.

Can you use either a Swiss Tool or Swiss Tool Spirit variant and interchange during the challenge? If so, I would like to try this challenge - it would be my first challenge.

I'm using both (I only have one of each)  :(

The SwissTool will be carried at work, on duty and the MXBS whilst off duty, at home (unlikely out & about*)

Same with me Surge.  My Swisstool is my carry tool at work as well.  My Spirit will be defending the home front :tu:

Just a thought Barry  :ahhh Maybe you could post a list of qualifying SwissTools (for this challenge)  :tu:

Good idea Surge!  This is a broad challenge.  Any full size Swisstool or Spirit is welcome here.  There's already badges for them, so this is a User's choice.  I'll be splitting mine between work and home, like we discussed.  My Swisstool is an RS, and my Spirit is a butterblade.  Anyone can feel free to use what they have available as long as they're Victorinox.  If there's any questions, post them here or PM me and we can get them answered.  I figured it would give us a chance to carry just a Swisstool or Spirit for a month and see just how versatile they are.

I think there is a Spirit badge and there is a SwissTool badge but I don't think there is a Spirit and SwissTool badge.

Okay everyone, for simplicity's sake I'm going to modify the Challenge to an either or, Spirit for 30 days or Swisstool for 30 days.  I understand if you wish to bail out, but I don't want to have Whoey doing another badge at this time.

This will make it difficult for me then as I will need to keep my SwissTool at work and my Spirit at home.

I need to go through airport security everyday (whilst working) and justifying the need to carry either/or without taking home my entire kit (baton, cuffs, limb restraints & Tac-Vest etc) would be pushing it a bit  :ahhh

I'll respectfully bail out and wish awl of you the best :salute:

We've always had a work clause with these types of challenges.
Meaning what you use for work doesn't count against you.
I would actually be interested in why one fits that role better...
Anyways the challenge is posting that daily pic so just do that yeah.
Of course if you don't care about getting a badge then do whatever for the fun of it, no need to miss out.
