Oscillating Tool Blade Recommendations
on: February 28, 2022, 04:12:10 PM
A couple of years back, Sam's Club had a special on a Skil oscillating "multitool" for $30 (original price was something like $80). I have used it heavily for both light construction and demolition jobs. Darn handy thing to have.

I have finally worn out the metal-cutting blade it came with.

I plan to use it a lot more this summer.

Any recommendations as to the blades I should be choosing?

I prefer the Bosch and Fein blades for best performance and long life but of course they are usually also the most expensive too.

I really liked the Craftsmen blades back in the day but am not sure who even makes them now though maybe its Stanley/BD/Dewalt and if so the Dewalt blades are pretty good too and I like the Milwaukee blades when I have used them too.

I think it just comes down to your own use and needs and how badly you will abuse them and not let the tool do all of the work!
I see people every day forcing them through instead of this and wonder if they will ever understand what is going on and why they burn through blades so fast?

I also wonder how we ever lived before we had these tools?!

Here is a Project Farm test comparing different brands of oscillating blades for cutting metal:

I generally use Bosch or Milwaukee since they are the brands found at Lowe's and Home Depot.
