Now that I am officially ticked off at Leatherman again, I think it is best I leave their stuff and start looking at other parts of my collection. I have never had nothing but good things to say about SAKs, and thus, I ordered 2 Jetsettrer@Work off of Amazon, 1 for my collection, and another for work.

I just recently got a Midnight Manager@Work 32GB and it’s replaced my Midnight Minichamp for EDC. I may have to get the Jetsetter version for trips.

I have one on my shopping list, but it's purely as a shelf queen unless I can swap the drive out. 32GB is nothing these days and won't even hold a full season of whatever you're currently watching. 256GB is pretty much the minimum you'd need, especially if you're working in an office... and then only an old fashioned one. Most places use cloud storage for file transfer. Even we do and most of our guys are relics from the 1960s!!

I do like the double-ended (fnar fnar) nature of the drive though, as it means I can more easily shift stuff from PC via USB to the new smartphones via USB-C.

I wish the @work were around when I was working…and these larger capacities would have been nice. I remember spending over $100 for junk in the low kB range. Ugh.

These are both the Alox versions that come with 16GB, more than enough for file safety storage for work. 16Gb holds a lot of digital papers.

As for Leatherman...because I was not allowed to buy a MR. Crunch. I have had it with that company. The worst company if you are a collector, and not American.

Is this a problem that can be solved by someone stateside?

I would have been thrilled with anything over a Gig at that time!

I love mine :), I got it in 16GB as a gift in 2017
But  I don't use it often : it's really bulky as a storage drive, and I don't carry a SAK on my keys :cry:

Why should I keep pestering a friend state side in order to collect their gear? Besides, I thought I had one lined up from an online friend...but I was wrong. He was able to acquire one though. This taught me a valuable lesson. You can only depend on yourself in the end. So that is it for me for Leatherman for now.

These should be arriving this Saturday...but I will have to see it to believe it. 16Gb for document storage is huge.

Leatherman says they review any orders with multiple ‘garage’ items. I guess your friend's order got revised. Sorry to hear that’s how it shook out. :(

I should add that if I was American...I would not have this opinion curently. Mind you, I walked away from them before back in 2015...only starting to add pieces in 2020.

So Leatherman wont't sell to Canadians because Canada has strict and arbitrary customs laws on imported pointy things.
