Wenger SwissGrip and MiniGrip
on: July 20, 2010, 12:25:22 AM
OK, so I have finally filled some holes in the collection by adding these 2 "goofy" multi-tools. The SwissGrip is HUGE! The MiniGrip not so much. Still I could not really ever see myself trying to carry one of these for use. I really never planned on getting these but thought a real SAK collection would not be quite complete without one. More photos in the album for details on these 2 unusual Wenger SAK's/tools.

Thanks to Dennis-aka WH867 for the MiniGrip.  :tu:

I've had the opportunity to handle a SwissGrip. A true beast of an MT :D
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I would not want to drop it on my toe. Ouch! I weighed it at 300 grams without any pouch or extra bits.

I had that minigrip model ordered off of eBay, but then, the seller made the mistake of shipping it off to one of the Baltic States instead, and she thought she had shipped me a camera, which never materialized. I did get a refund, but would have preferred to get my paws on one the Wenger instead.

They do look nice together don't they?

I don't care much for the little MiniGrip, but that big SwissGrip is one of my favorites! :) Congrats on scoring one of the rare-ish red ones Wayne!

I do like the SwissGrip since it is very well built. I just wish it had a spring return for the pliers handle like the MiniGrip.

How stiff are the plier jaws on your average SwissGrip? I have two Pocket Grips, and the pliers on them are nice and loose and free moving. My new SwissGrip has very tight jaws that are difficult to open. They drag quite a bit. Tool is brand new, still has the factor edges, no marks on the teeth, no marks anywhere. Super stiff pliers make this one not very fun to use so far.

Also, my bit adapter doesn't have a magnet in it. Is this normal?

Charles.
