If they made the Rambler in alox, I probably would have gone with a Rambler. But the MiniChamp is quickly endearing itself to me. I’m really digging the extensive tool selection. Lots of room for creativity.

I had a custom Alox Rambler made a few years back.  It is pretty great, but not even close to the Alox MiniChamp (which should just be re-titled to the Alox Champ).  The AMC is overflowing with awesomeness and just a smidge thicker than the Rambler (any version), which is merely just great.

Maybe necroposting but I rcently bought a Jetsetter for an overnight business trip where I took cabin baggage only - got through airport security in Luton and Warsaw no problem too.

Anyway prior to that I'd been perusing 58mm models, specifically with the small Phillips, to carry either with folders or SAKs.  I know that the can opener on SAKs  can deal with most Phillips screws but still I wanted the extra capability.  I too like many of us kept asking myself why they don't make an alox Rambler because tbh I wouldn't need the extras on the Minichamp.  I wanted to avoid cellidor as I was planning to have it on my keyring and I know the scales would look like crap within a week.

As it is I bought some 3D printed nylon scales (with slots for tweezers and toothpick) for my Jetsetter.  For a few days I've been carrying that with my good old Farmer.  In a way it would be nice to have a small blade but in reality I have 3 bladed tools already - 93mm blade, awl, and 58mm scissors.  So this seems to be a very functional and relatively minimalist combo.  I can see myself carrying this for much of the summer now.

An alox Rambler would sell like hotcakes. I had one of the early +B runs until the wife nabbed it.

^^^ Absolutely Zoidy
I have no idea why they don't make the Annual Alox 58mm model a Rambler - After all they changed all the other models!!   :twak:
And especially now we have all the other Alox Classic SDs

I agree re: an alox rambler. It seems like such an easy an obvious addition to the line. I made my own alox rambler, and it’s a nice carry. But to do it you have to sacrifice two knives for the right parts (the alox minicamp does not have the SD tip nail file, otherwise you could just remove tools from it) which can get spendy.

Oh yeah. This Farmer/MiniChamp combo is totally working for me. Had a busy day, full of SAK uses.

I got to break down cardboard boxes, the reamer workin especially well to zip through packing tape.

The cap lifter worked a treat for pulling large staples from cardboard.

The main blade was used to extricate a new charge cable from it’s sticky tape prison.

I even got to try out the orange peeler.

The wharncliffe blade’s tip worked perfectly for unstitching buttons from old shirts, to add to a sewing kit.

Oh, one more. That combo tool rocks for tiny screws. The magnetic tip is soooooooo handy!!!

I feel like there’s no small task that cannot be performed with this combo.

We need a summary 2 years later!  :pok:  :D
