Hi I'm new here

Hey thanks to everyone for maintaining this forum, I have been checking it out lately and it is awesome.
I've been a daily Leatherman user for decades, my standby since 2009 has been a Wave which still works great (except right now it is in pieces). Because I got the idea I wanted to make some modifications... now OMG I have become obsessed and I have acquired a large pile of various new & used Leatherman tools and parts, and have several projects in gradual progress.
I will share some things once I have anything worthy, and boy will I have a lot of questions in the meantime! Right now I'm just introducing myself, trying out a post, and attaching a random picture just to see if this works.
I am in the little town of Felton, in the hills above the central coast of California.

Once I start formulating some questions, I feel a little unsure whether to post them in the Leatherman forum or the Mod Squad. Some of my questions will be very specifically about modifications, others will be more general like asking people their opinion on the scissors on a certain tool, etc. if anyone has advice on this I’d like to hear it, otherwise I’ll just figure it out.
Besides that, I now own a brand new Swiss Army knife, first time since I was about 15! I forgot how nice they are! I got it with the idea of possibility poaching the scissors to install on my Wave. Now I am not sure. And I’m having some issues with these brand new scissors which I also will be seeking advice on at some point!

Welcome aboard! Your understanding is correct; questions specifically about mods are best suited for the Mod Squad, where questions about one's favorite Leatherman features and the like are best for the Leatherman section. There is no shortage of useful information (and helpful folks) and good banter here!

Welcome. There are a lot of great modders available to help. I've done the Vic scissors in Wave and it was not too bad. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for the good words everyone, and thanks pfrsantos for that link. Those are great specific photos showing how to prep the Vic scissors. The link in that thread to a trick with a washer is also excellent.
Though tbh I am considering skipping the scissors mod and just carrying a Micra or Squirt S4, both of which I have acquired and which are great.
I picked up a used wingman, the scissors are bad, I replaced it, the replacement scissors are bad. Then I ordered a brand new Swiss army knife, the scissors are sticky and don’t spring back, I had it replaced, the replacement has the same darn problem (!!!)
