Surge washer placement

Hi there, so glad I found this forum, it seems like the place to maybe get the info I'm looking for..

I Accidentally dropped out the pin for the removable bit and can opener on my Surge while I was trying to figure out a way to figure out why they pocket clip is so loose on it, and now I'm left with two washers, whick I'd expect of course, but they are two different thicknesses! I can't figure out why or on which side they need to be.. :( Does anybody know, or would someone be willing to take that toolset apart to see where they go? I'm weary using the bit driver now, as I'm afraid the different thicknesses may have to do with the torsion, and it may damage the tool if they are not situated properly.. :(

Someone actually posted a fix for the clip, but I just can't wrap my head around what he meant, hence the tinkering on my part..

From memory it's opener/big washer/small washer/bit driver.

Nothing worth stressing over though, you wont damage anything if you install them in a different order.

Hmm.. So the two washers are up against each other? 🤔

If correct, then that's an interesting decision from an engineering perspective.. 😅🤷

I've settled on big washer/opener/bit driver/small washer..

It seems to glide the best, and following my own "logic" it makes sense that the driver is supported by the opener om one side with as little space between the driver and handle as possible, because if you really crank on it, it's better - well - supported? 🤷

What's clear is that there needs to be a washer on the far side of each tool up against the handle so that it's handle/washer/tool/tool/washer/handle or it wont pivot properly - at least for me..

Anyway, as Zoidberg said, it shouldn't make a difference really, which is most likely true and I'm just obsessing.. 😅
But I do put a scary amount of torque on the driver often, so I have my reasons, don't judge.. 🤣

Small washer is captive or keyed to prevent clumping so goes between the tools.
Leatherman usually don't place washers between tools and handle.
There are exceptions like the crunch file or factory assembly or user mistakes.
The two washers together is a thing on a few multitools.
Handles and tools are not always flat so yeah go with the order that works for you.
