When I enlarged the pivot hole, I did it somewhat off center from the original hole so that there was enough metal to engage the lock. I couldn't use the drill press because the drill bit would bend and align with the center of the existing hole. So I had to use my rotary tool and a couple of different sizes of Dremel chainsaw sharpening stones (5/32" and 7/32") to create a hole slightly larger than 7/32" and centered slight further away from the back end of the bit driver.

I wish I had documented the process. But I was focused on working out how to do the modifications and not so much on recording what I figured out.
