Which square driver for Rebar?
on: May 19, 2022, 10:32:15 AM
Hi guys, not been on for a while but I just found a NOS Rebar in my drawer I'd forgotten about!

I believe these were designed to take a square drive adapter on the Philips - can anyone enlighten me on this and what I need to look for to buy a generic one so I can use various 1/4" drive sockets or similar?

The square section seems to be around 5mm or 3/16".

My Wave adapter will fit but is a bit loose/clicky...
Max.

Hello.
Indeed, the square hole of the adapter is 5mm, so a common 1/4" square to 1/4" hex adapter will not fit.
The one you're after looks like this:

Many inexpensive multi-tools come with a bit adapter that fits the Rebar and many other multi-tools.

Thanks guys!

I have also just found a Chinese tool (the one ReamerPunch linked) I have with one of those bit kits - the square adapter fits but is poorly made so the magnet bit inside just gets pushed up leaving only a short female part for the bits to fit into (fall out of!  :D ).
