Matt’s 30 Days and 30 SAKs Challenge
on: June 02, 2022, 04:15:01 AM
So I am going to show you guys 30 days of SAKs. Plan to keep it limited to standard models and some of my favorites. Day 1, I have to go with Victorinox’s most popular knife of all time the Classic.

Day 2, Going to try to alternate Vic’s and Wengers. Show “standard” models I really like, but if it gets boring I can pull out a few odd balls I have collected over the years. Today I have the Wenger Microlight Esquire.

Day 3, Have to put a Rambler in the line up, yes I have a few Managers, but not with these translucent brown scales. My absolute favorite stock scales. Bought some off of Grant one time and he called them a “root beer” color and that is a great description. One of my favorites.

Rootbeer is certainly a great description.  I do like the toolset in the Rambler, but my favorite 58mm is the Vagabond.  :salute:

Day 4, Have the Wenger Swiss Clipper AT, this was an air travel friendly model with eyeglass screwdriver in place of the small pen blade. Clippers work great. One of my wife’s favorites.

Day 5, Two versions of Wenger Pocket Toolchest today (couldn’t decide which I liked best), One with smooth brushed stainless steel scales and SwissBuck Attche.

Nice ones!  :like:  If I wasn't so fond of the Vagabond, I would definitely carry a Pocket Toolchest.  :tu:

The SwissBuck, any SwissBuck, was high on my wants list as a kid. I had a great time with this challenge back in December. Following along! :tu:

Day 6, Going with Victorinox Midnight Minichamp Tech. The silvertech scales are awesome on any size SAK in the Victorinox lineup. No clue why Victorinox does not release 91 mm plus versions. They would be an instant success.

Not a custom, just part of cyber barrage from Victorinox a few years ago.

Day 7, Today I’m sticking with Victorinox because I do not have a comparable Wenger model to the Victorinox Executive. This 74 mm is not only unique for its size, but also for the orange peeler tool. The pic below is a stock unused model in my collection.

Day 8, Going with Wenger EvoGrip Blackout 10.X. Just think if Victorinox would release a champ with all PVD coated tools. Sell like crazy even if it was just a limited edition. Also wish they would release some black evogrip scales. My grandma always said wish in one hand poop in the other and see which happens first.

Day 9, Going with Victorinox Voyageur. Amazes me how high these go on the secondary market. Do not understand why Victorinox does not release a new version of this ever popular model.

Day 10, Wenger Evo 14 Soft Touch. If you have never tried the evogrip line by Wenger. This model and it’s bigger brother the Evo 17 Soft Touch are two of the most ergonomic knives I have in my collection. Also note the clip point main blade. Highly recommend picking up one on the secondary market.

This is one classy carry, love the combination of tools and the scale.

I actually love the clip point on these SAKs, and somehow wish they'd make some for the regular SAK lineup, that'd be fun!

Also wish they would release some black evogrip scales.
I'd settle for wider availability of yellow EvoGrip scales.

Also note the clip point main blade.
If one can get that blade in a two-layer model, I'm on the hunt! :like:
