I'm really keen on getting one of these, and hopefully soon, as I love the Number 1 to bit's :)

So my question is, have any of you got one of these http://www.grohmannknives.com/pages/r4s.html and if so, what are they like please ???

Thanks guys :tu:

I've got one of those new a few years back and have never really used it.  But I can tell you that the fit and finish on both the blade and handle are first rate!  It's a really nice leather sheath as well that comes with it.
If your looking for a blade of this size with a real thick spine to it perhaps for dressing game or a good camp knife this might be it.
I have to also mention that I have a few knives both fixed and folder as well as multi tools.  There are only two that I have trouble taking out and putting them to work one is the Vic Spirit and the other happens to be my Grohmann.  The reason?  There just too darn pristine and I don't want to scratch or scuff them up.  ::)  I have to tell the truth on that one.  My other cutlery goes to work daily.

Thanks for you reply mate :tu:

Basically I want it as a Autumn/Winter camp knife for splitting wood and the like, that I'd be nervous using my Number one for :)

You really ought to use them though Sean as your really missing out :D

Yes I know I should use it. :(  I'll buy another Grohmann knife eventually because I love the look of those Canadian made knives  and use a knife like that mainly for food prep, and cutting rope for tarps etc.  I would though buy the smaller fixed blade like the one you have.

I have a No.4 but haven't gotten around to using it at all.

I'm not fond of the flap on the sheath...if you don't hold it clear when drawing the knife it can get cut.
