Hello Knights,
So the model code for the standard Classic SD in red was always 0.6223
- No suffix as it's red (so 06223.3 is a black one, 06223.2 a blue one etc etc)
Last year the new Classic Collection came out with thirty new colours - I thought this was a pretty good idea - Give the punters lots of options for colour - Why not?
Although Vic is just copying what Wenger did many years ago with theiir equivalent Esquire (Evolution 81) model!! The Classic collection model number is in the format 0.6223.xxG -
So for instance the Smashed Avocado colour variation is 06223.43G ..... OK
Now the questions......
One of the series members is model 06223.G - And its colour is
red - And it looks pretty much like the regular Vic red - Anybody got one to check?
However the colour description in the Vic site says
Style Icon for the colour! ....... What kind of a colour is that ? - and what on earth does that mean?
Now interestingly
(OCD moment) I cannot find model 0.6223 on the site any more - So has 0.6223.G replaced 0.6223 ?
And now the whinge !!!
The regular Classic non-SD model is still on the site - 0.6203
https://www.victorinox.com/de/en_/Products/Swiss-Army-Knives/Small-Pocket-Knives/Classic/p/0.6203OK - And it costs €18
Yet the 0.6223.G costs €23 ........ I am sure these two models were always, or at least usually, the same price ?
Is this another money grabbing excercise by Victorinox? .......
Give us a so called new colour, that is actually the same colour - And charge us €5 more ?
