I've tested it in Florida swamps with clouds of mosquitos, and it works.  It's like being in a protective bubble.  I don't know if breathing the stuff is good for you or not, but it's better than our collection of mosquito borne illnessses.
Nice :tu: Does it work if there is a draft/wind?

I know a few people who use the older butane style and love them, but this is my first one.  I first found out about them at a friends house and didn’t get bothered at all by mosquitos.  I figured I’d give it a try especially with a planned trip where the last time we went both my wife and I got bit a lot.  Some people I’ve known say it also works on other flying insects like deer flies, even though Thermcell doesn’t claim anything other than mosquitoes, I’m hoping.
I might pick one up :tu:

If there's enough wind to disrupt the chemical cloud, there's probably enough that mosquitos won't be bad.  We were in woods/swamp, usually dead calm, but sometimes we had a very light breeze and it still worked.  If you were in the open, maybe not, I don't know.

Sure! A big :like: for Bella.
What tool did you use? I've found the screwdriver on the end of a Wenger type magnifying glass works exceedingly well for that purpose.

This was a great challenge to follow. Badges well and truly earned! :tu:
I used the inline phillips only opened halfway (about 90 degrees)

In reading the advice on placement it suggests putting the thermcell upwind (instead of in center) if it is windy, which makes sense to me.

Powernoodle Day 30

(Image removed from quote.)
At Powernoodle Slug Farms, we examine each slug daily to ensure that the consumer receives only the most healthful and tasty slugs.

(Image removed from quote.)
Look closely and you can see the eye spots on the optic tentacles. Each eye stalk can move independently and can be re-grown if lost.

Thank you Brother Fireman and everyone who participated in this glorious challenge!    :salute: :ahhh  :salute: :ahhh

Hi powernoodle, if you run a slug farm, you better get rid of this critter

Its name is Limax maximus, in english  great grey slug or leopard slug, and it feeds on snail eggs and other slugs. If you are a gardener, it's your friend. With a maximum size of eight inches, it's really a giant in his realm. Originated in western europe and around the mediterranean, you can find it now in most parts of the world...

I remember some years ago, when my gf's niece was about eight, she had some drastic measures about slugs and snails. She used some scissors and cut them in half! ("These ugly critters feed on OUR vegetables"). I saw her homing in on a leopard slug and just shouted: "Hey, don't kill your allies!".

So, a little zoological rambling from tinker gnome. I hope you don't mind :D
Best regards and stay safe,

Wolfgang

Is there a Farmer X badge to be had for this challenge? I think I managed the 30 consecutive days of posting.
