Day 5

Running repairs needed to a wallet that's falling apart. I fancy one of those new fangled hard wallet type things, but I'm not sure how a Swiss Card would be in one of them...

And I promise to try and keep up a bit more from here on in!

Nice job everyone!  It's hard keeping up with the challenges and day to day life so you all are doing fine.  This challenge is way past due!

Day 10

Used the pen to fill out some check out stuff. Back home tomorrow, but continuing with the Swisscard!

Day 11

Decided to grab a Shard to complement the Swisscard. I like to think of the Swisscard as a "plus scales" version of the Classic. Adding a bottle opener/prybar gets me most of the tools of a 91mm, albeit in a less practical form.

Quick day one review of the Shard:
Like- Having a prybar/bottle opener in my "airport" carry.
The edge between the bottle opener and prybar works pretty well as a general package opener.

Dislike- The Phillips is very pointy. I think I may have to file it down to avoid stabbing a hole in my pocket, or ruining my "nondangerous" carry for security purposes.

Will probably leave the Shard on my keychain through the end of the month, since it's still bladeless. Somewhat doubtful on carrying either one day to day once I can have my regular SAKs back, but maybe one will grow on me. Regardless, happy to have a set I can travel with and cover most of my bases.

Day 12

Finally got around to actually using the file after trimming my nails. Best file on any Victorinox product, would consider buying a larger stand alone one if they sold them.

Day 13

No uses today. Felt a little blah and just did laundry and played computer games all day. Decided a disassembled pic would be fun. Lots of little bits on these suckers.

Day 14

Rooted around and found some loose screws on the bathroom door. Tried both the Shard and the Quattro driver. The length on the Shard was helpful for getting in when the screw was close to the bolt, but the Quattro was easier to turn.

With the smaller "knives" just finding something to take the picture of without resorting to "I scissored my mail" is often the hardest part of the challenge. It doesn't help that I'm not doing much this week.

Definitely. You get to the stage where you need to think outside the box a little... Which is part of the fun, of course.

Day 11

Tried a couple of alternative methods to open a can this evening. Neither were very successful.

How much force can you put on the file? I've been pretty skittish with mine so far.

Day 16

Was playing with the flashlight on my keychain and the mag glass (I would need a third arm to get the picture...) Pumpkin hopped up for the light show, so here's one of her.

Michael, this looks like a sure-fire method to break the glass file  :ahhh

The file from the Swiss Card Classic should work, though.
Best regards and stay safe,

Wolfgang

I admit that my attraction to the Swisscard is that it looks like something Q would issue 007.  The nail care version is not very Bondish, but I understand your reasons for choosing it.  I have a Shard, but I have yet to find a good way to carry it.

Congrats on nearing the halfway point!

Thanks!

The Shard is doing alright in my pocket in cargos, not sure how it'd do in a pair of work slacks. For EDC the Nailcare definitely less practical than an actual SAK, but I've carried a few "travel safe" tools and it's one of the better ones.
