What have I got?
on: July 23, 2022, 02:35:23 PM
I'm pretty sure this flashlight was something (versus being a cheapo) but there are no markings on it, and for the life of me I don't recall where I got it (or whom it came from) or anything about it.

Of course it could be a cheapo, I don't honestly know.  Can anyone help ID this one?

Zebralight SC51

Great light. Not el-cheapo at all.  I'll send you the documentation on that one. Zebralight UI is a bit complex and unique.

 :iagree:

Its a very good light.  I bought a SC52 and didn't get another light for a long long time.

Thanks guys.  I knew it wasn't a no name cheapo, I just couldn't for the life of me recall what it was.

I only know how to turn this one on and off, and go from low to high.  Does it do more than that?

I am not certain if you have a SC51 or SC50.  One has strobe if I recall correctly.  There was also a SC50w and a SCw+ again I may have it all wrong.

I have a SC52L2 so what do I know?

Zebra can be simple  HML.  It can also be a little more fussy.  High can have a sub level as can Medium and Low.  Essentially you can have 6 levels.  IF yours has strobe then 7 options.

My light can take a mix of cell chemistries.  I am not sure if yours can.

It took me a while to differentiate the models when I was looking into ZL.

I sure hope I didn't make a mess of this .

Someone more knowledgeable like NutSAK can help better.

Yeah, I tried watching a YT video on it and I think I'm happy with it as is- I don't need to try and figure out any other stuff on it.

Kind of reminding me of the old Nintendo days!

Excellent lights, still have mine and love it. Travis used to sell them at Edcsource.

Goinggear has the UI instructions here: https://goinggear.com/products/zebralight-sc51-200-lumen-aa-led-flashlight?variant=27155825328228

It's really not as bad as it looks, and well worth the time learning as it's a very versatile light once you get the hang of the levels.

Press and hold (from off) to ramp through low, medium, high release at desired level.  One click (from off) to go directly to high.

While on, double click for the secondary modes in each level (low, med, high) labelled L2, M2 and H2 in the instructions.
