Gauging interest for a December challenge
on: September 09, 2022, 07:37:08 PM
Deciduous trees will soon be shedding their leaves. That means I will be calling upon a wood saw. Why not earn a new badge while trimming away the unruly growth that's certain to pervade my backyard?

I could participate in any of the six challenges listed without having to buy a new tool. There is no Hiker challenge badge yet, but the other options come with badges. After 60 days, I'll start up a challenge thread for the tool that gets the largest number of votes.

What say ye?

Wow. I'm the first to vote!!!

I don't own any of the others so the Rebar was an easy choice  :D

That said, my most carried at Xmas is the MiniChamp (the combo tool is essential for battery compartments*)
* Mrs Surge enjoys a great deal of Yuletide lights  :pok: :twak:
They don't like it up 'em!

I don’t own any of these at the moment, but I definitely think there’s a Rebar in my near future.

The Hiker is my longest owned SAK. Be a great way to honor the ol' gal! I don't think there's a challenge for it though.

A Rebar challenge would be fun! I lack motivation to carry a tool without outside accessability, and I do love my Rebar :dd:

I might be down for a Rebar challenge then

We usually have an annual PST Challenge in November I believe

There isn't a Hiker challenge...yet. For that one, I believe I'd need to have at least 10 people on board.

I may be in for the upcoming PST challenge, with my JPST.

Looks like I kinda smurfed up the timing on this one. It's possible that the Yeager Memorial Challenge may be running in December. If so, and I have a hope and a prayer of getting hold of an Executive, I'll want to participate in that challenge. That will then push this challenge back to January...or maybe forward to next month.

Voted Signal as it has bit driver, saw and, same pliers head as Rebar, and since I already did the Rebar 30 Day (not that I wouldn't do it again, mind you!) I'd like to do something different with what I
have (sadly, no SAK's other than Spartan, Climber, Super Tinker or Classic SD's).

I think this challenge got pushed back to January. The Yeager memorial challenge is likely running in December, and I'll probably have an Executive by then. Will see about having one of the mods make the appropriate changes.

I voted for the Signal, but I could also be down for the Rebar seeing that it is leading in the votes.

Aw, few votes for the huntsman. Out of the list, it’s the only one I currently own. It’s also the SAK I travel with during the holidays. My PST and huntsman get nicely packed away in the checked bag and have so far not been appealing to grabby fingers probably because of how beat up they are.

I believe there is a PST challenge in the works for November.

In time, I'll get to every challenge listed in the poll...

I voted Huntsman, but I'll be in on anything except the Signal (already done).  Rebar and SAKs at the ready.  :salute:

As of right now, looks like it'll be a Rebar challenge in January.

Giving this one a little :bump: since (appropriately) the poll closes on Election Day here in the States. I'll be participating in the Poker Face Challenge in January, so the best month for the winning challenge is TBD.
