Def,

Good review on the Universal Tool Adapter.  You should show that it can be used at different angles for more torque.

I mentioned that in the review, but I dropped the pics as they were getting a little heavy.  I guess I could throw them back in and see what it looks like.

I think adding that one pic does it without clutter.

I like seeing lots of pictures. I also like the chart showing compatability at the end of the UTA review.

Regarding the Core, another feature that is underated by most of us is the ability to access the long blades using large fingers, without fingernails. I know, most of you guys have heard me talk about this before. I never really considered how critical this need was on a multitool until I watched my ginormous brother-in-laws struggle with a variety of top-name multitools from other companies. Whether they appreciate the fine quality and construction or not, some guys simply cannot access the blades on a SwissTool or a Spirit.

But the design of the Core allows them to.

I thought about that while writing the article, but unfortunately, being a guy with dainty hands, I can't replicate that.  Ultimately I decided to omit any comments on big fingered folks as I would really have no idea what I was talking about!

Def,

Are you wanting us to write reviews you can post on the main page too?

I'm also curious whether reviews such as those on backpackgeartest.org would be useful here?  They do long-term & other interesting twists.

If anyone wants to submit reviews, they are now and always have been very welcome to.  There are several reviews from other members posted on the main site.  I can't afford to review them all!

Long term reviews and other articles in general are also welcomed with open arms.  Basically, anything tangible to help fill up the site is great.  Any ideas that you may have for references, information, instructions, ads, old catalogues etc are all what the site is about.  The only section open on the main site right now is the Reviews because that's all we have at the moment.  However, any articles ("why I like multitools," "a catalogue of my collection," "why Brand A is better than Brand B," "company X's history and philosophy" etc ) are all of interest too.

If you have something specific in mind (and this goes for everyone) but you are curious about whether it would be acceptable or not, or have any other questions, my door is always open.

How about a "History of the Multitool" section pulling all the references to early multis into one section. They could be left as the threads or just be links to the different threads in the forum.

I would like to compile alot of that kind of stuff into a more permanent article format rather than just linking to threads, but you are headed in the right direction.

Yup, same here. Thank goodness I've got fingernails, and that they are attached to reasonable-sized fingers!

I'll have to submit a close-up picture someday of one of these guys opening up a knife or multitool with their big hands. It's hard to appreciate until you actually see it.

I can just imagine the looks on their faces when they find out they are subjects in a study by a bunch of plier people....
