Back in Seoul.....will visit again in a few days
Reply #60 on: February 06, 2009, 07:20:15 AM
Folks:

I am going to be in Seoul for the next week.  Our newborn will be delivered Tuesday at 0730 Korea time.  My mother flies in Saturday late afternoon.

I plan on taking another stroll to that place.

I will send an e-mail to felinevet, and start working/cooking up the data on how to make some people VERY happy.

Seems the OD green Trooper, collectable Swiss Champs, and of course the red First Mate is hot on the list.

Send me your wants and I will see what I can do.

And yes, I am going to buy some MORE goodies!!!!

I will also make some more pics, more details this time (wife WON'T be able to go...LOL).

Any picture requests?

MOLON LABE!

Send me your wants and I will see what I can do.

If you happen to find a Victorinox SwissTool with the signature of Charles Elsener on it, I would definitely be interested in it.

Shop visit 10 FEB 2009
Reply #65 on: February 11, 2009, 02:58:09 PM
I went back to the shop 1 day later than I had planned (somebody named Gabrielle decided to show up early!!!)

Got there right as he was closing....he gave me 5 minutes.  Made 5 pics, then the camera battery died!!!

Anyways, when I return again, will make more and better pics.

felinvet:  check your e-mail concerning our telephone discussion on Monday.

Pics:

Gabrielle Esther [bren10man], who delayed my visit, LOL.  8 lbs, 4.5 oz; 21-inches long.  She and mom/mum/mother/madre are doing fine and healthy:

Very nice.

I was wondering if the red SwissCard on the bottom of the picture is a SwissCard Quattro by any chance ? if it does you must get it for me. please.
I guess it is SwissCard Classic 2008+ but there is a sleight chance it is a Quattro...
(I am looking for Ruby SwissCard Quattro for quite some time now ....)

:climber: Hey everyone, John and I are working out the details and coordination of ordering and delivery. I will be handling the distribution on this end so I need anyone who wants any of the goodies to send me an email to: fveap@earthlink.net or a PM here. I will consolidate the requests and forward them, along with payment, to John in Korea. Once I get all the prices from John, I will give you a price quote (includes shipping) and will need the money up front from you via PayPal or credit card. PLEASE NOTE: due to shipping restrictions on John's end, delivery will occur over a period of weeks or months so please don't expect immediate delivery. This will be a complicated process so please bear with us as we make it happen. Contact me with any questions. Thanks, Tim.

BTW, folks, my real name is John, so the John referred to by felinevet IS me, bren10man....LOL

I will be sending felinevet 2x Solos and 2x First Mates to him in the coming few days.  I picked them up this past week.  The Korean Vic dude has at least 30-50 First Mates in stock.  You have seen the pics, what you see is what you get.  Also, the liners are BRASS.  So, this is new, old stock.

Also, be advised that the won to dollar (U.S.) exchange rate changes daily.  The GOOD thing is, today is is around 1400 won to $1 U.S., or 1000 won = about 71 cents.

Also, I am NOT doing this for profit on my end...just reimbursement for shipping and cost of the knife.

And, here are the first two to go out...+ something unique for me:
Reply #79 on: February 13, 2009, 08:30:03 PM
Here are the 4 knives going out to Felinevet as soon as I can arrange shipping.  What you see in the pics is what you get.  Also, $1 U.S. = 1403 won (as of 14 FEB 09, this will change daily due to currency flunctuations):

Solo x 2, price: 16,000 won or $11.40 for each knife

First Mate x 2:  40,000 won or $28.50 for each knife

I bought this one, a Huntsman, because it is a "commercial" knife.  On the front scale with the Swiss shield, it says:

"With the compliements of VICTORINOX, SUNGSAN, YONGMOO"   Notice also it does not have toothpick or tweezers.

PS: the next visit to the Korean Vic shop is Tuesday.  I am off of work Tuesday, and will be going to the U.S. Embassy to arrange for birth certificate, passport, etc. for my newborn.  SO, when I am done, I plan on a visit to make more pics, and get more goodies.  Send your requests to Felinevet, and I will see what I can do.

I know for me, the only thing I would really like is the 1st Mate. Other than that everything else has been called "only for collection" right.  :D

Here is another couple items that caught my attention while looking at these photos. In this photo there are a couple of boxed collection sets. I have identified 2 of them I think but the middle one eludes me. Have a gander at it here;

(Image removed from quote.)

There is a Knifeforums thread with more about the Victorinox Fan Collection here;
http://www.knifeforums.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/843613/

The Victorinox Flag Collection box set of the 5 countries that surround Switzerland info comes from Dan Jacquart's book "A Collector's Guide to Victorinox 58mm sized Swiss Army Knives". Do you know the 5 countries?

 :D

Good news: I asked, and was told by the Korean Vic dude that he has a few of these special Classic sets in stock for sale.  Get with Felinevet if you want one and your needs.  I am visiting again this Tuesday.

Just so there is no misunderstanding, I will be charging a fee plus shipping for handling these transactions. So the price quote I give you will be higher than what John indicates is the price from the Korean dealer. Any profits, as always, will go to the nonprofit charity. Thanks.
